Toyota Sequoia 2002 how to remove the back seat

My 2003 Sequoia, I struggled severely. I have to say, I did what this video, and it didn't work for me and I gave up after an hour. BUT!! I got it today, you have to slide the seats all the way back first. DO NOT USE THE HANDLE IN THE FRONT! Hold the red lever up, and PUSH FORWARD WHILE LIFTING THE SECOND HANDLE AND LIFTING AND SLIDING FORWARD WHILE PULLING UP.. It worked for me!! Good job on the video too!

You had the first part right but there no need to lift the entire seat like that. Just flatten the front seat and you will be able to pop it forward out of the latch. Then pull out without from the back.😊

You leave it down not latched and press the red lever up and it has two fork latches in the front once you move those it will unlatch did it on 2001 toyota sienna 3rd row seats

For anyone still having a hard time, make sure to push down on the hook side (opposite of the red lever side) and then move it to the right like he instructed. The red lever only unhooks the hook a little so you have to move the seat in that angle.

The easiest ways is to pull the red handle and the left black handle up and back

It's so amazing that Toyota put directions DIRECTLY ON THE SEAT on how to remove it. It's also in the owners manual. If your vehicle doesn't have the owner's manual in it, Toyota's website has all manuals in pdf form. They are available for free under the "Owner's" section.

Just an FYI??? on mine, the seats would not come out. I mean with a crowbar, big hammer, hitting them pulling from either side while pulling the latch thing full force. Go back to it, maybe it was stuck? no, pull the latch thing hard, push with a tool, seat would not come out, fought for over an hour. The CHEAP design Toyota uses for the latch makes it so they simply do not release. Once the thing is pryed out, the mechanism has to be cleaned and greased. i never put the seats back after 6 years.

Read the stickers on the seat you are removing it wrong. You do not need to crawl in the vehicle at all.

I can imagine your back in pain as you haunch over the seat trying to pull and lift up at the same time; AND trying to keep the seatfrom falling back on its rear mounts . My idea is simple put a 1x1 inch piece of lumber uta few inches longer thanthe rear seat, and letting the seat fall on it, the wood prevents the seats from locking backwards, and you can easily take your time to remove the seat.....
