I've used that 3M panel bond to reattach the fiberglass top to the targa frame on C4's and it works great. I've recapped it and reused it a couple of times over the course of a year. Its also made for doing cold lap joints on steel & aluminum body panels.

Thank you so much for showing this. My '76 has been doing this for about 4 years ago. I put a big paint chip in the body because of one of the times it clipped while coming up. Since then, I haven't used the lights, driving only in the day. I thought it needed a bracket realignment or something. Following this video (and using all the products you recommended) it's completely back to normal and flips up with no issue at all. I feel dumb that it took this long for me to fix it but hey, better late than never. I really appreciate all the time you spend showing us how you're doing stuff on these old C3 cars. It's saved me a lot of time on other projects I've got going on. I'd love to send you some beer (or diaper) money my friend.

Great video as usual. Could you consider doing a rear trailing arm bushing replacement for a C3.? These are a fairly common wear point and here in the UK they want silly money to replace them? Hope you can. Love the channel.

Excellent video! Thanks for all the info. The brace on my '78 has come off completely. I plan to have it blasted and coated. Do you have any resources on how to re-align the support brace for installation?

The previous owner of my car cut the brackets out and butchered everything now that I've finaly got normal lights to work the hood (for the longest time) would contact the back of the light and the guy who said he could fix it just made the hood brace shorter!

Hey Ben , first off I want to say that I I really love your videos, and also i would like to ask what do I have to check if my oil pressure gauge is reading low? it shakes' any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and keep up the good work , I own a 79 Corvette , the engine is all fully stock 350 and the air cleaner has 2 air ducts, so I'm not sure if she's a L-82 or L-48 . Thanks again.

Great putting this fix-up, my bar completely rusted out at the ends and came unbonded. So is there any issues or suggestions and getting the new bar aligned properly before permanently glueing it in place? also more Chop Stick and Noodle less car. ^_^

Nice work, Ben. I have a question for you. I'm reinstalling the headlight brace on my vette. The front clip is off, so I have it flipped over. With easy access. My question is, Should I sand the paint off of the mating surface of the brace so that the panel bond is bonding to bare metal? Thank you

Is there a way to remove one side of the swivel joint mounted to the actuator bracket with out having to tear the whole assembly out?

Can you please please do a video on the linkage for the 74 C3? I’m pretty sure mine needs to be adjusted and I can’t find anything on it.

I just got my first c, I got it inspected before I bought it, came back good. Then I got in and found it had a head on collision in the past, the crash bar is slightly bent and all the headlight housing are cracked. There is also a bad repair in this area. would I be able to weld the head lights housing or will the metal be to old? Love your videos
@benfrowd41234 жыл бұрын
Ok, I'll look into it. I'm in Australia so not sure if we have the same law's
@jakey_wow4 жыл бұрын
My crash bar is all jacked up as well from impact, very common with these cars I think few of them managed to stay out of front end collisions. The age of steel shouldnt matter for welding just be sure to use a magnet to make sure its steel not white metal -- and keep a hose nearby.. Fiberglass is flammable

Does the actual nose (the V section) glue down? I'd be afraid to clamp down there. I have one side that has separated also but when I push on that V section I don't know if I should push too much.

Honestly recommend junking the vacuum system for an electric system, just in general on all c3s you do
@TheCorvetteBen4 жыл бұрын
I can usually fix a vacuum system for less than $200. Electric systems start at $600+. Once you understand the vacuum system it’s very easy and very cheap to fix and diagnose
