How to fix the Headlight wipers on a Volvo P80 S70 C70 V70 850

This video shows how I fixed my Volvo's headlight wipers. I found this when I was around ten years old use this fix at your own risk. Removing the Driver or left headlight wiper from the car is easy. Once removed, gently open it up to replace the thermistor with a male plug end from a US Christmas light, nice and smooth however the passenger side or the right side of the car is a bit of a nightmare to remove. You will need to break some of the plastic shown in the video and carefully maneuver it out of there.
Parts needed: US-style Christmas lighte plug.

Great hack. My drivers side sometimes stop halfway but eventually it goes back.

What about if the wiper motors don't work at all?

Hi, yes, here I am answering my own question. Found a simple fix if you've purchased a 'bargain' used Volvo. Got a 2004 XC70 that needs a lot of peripheral work last April. Here's what I found out is the BEST start to fixing up a neglected car. The XC70 has fuses in three places, a) under the hood right behind the air filter b) in the passenger compartment to the left of the steering wheel behind a panel that lifts out easily (AND has extra fuses in the panel), c) behind a panel in rear on the lefthand side (same side as the driver's seat) of the back compartment (they are described in the XC70 Owner's Manual). Both of the front wiper motors did not work at all (I rigged up a long piece of twine to the windshield wiper handle inside the car, and pulled on it to make the front sprayers work, wipers did not work). ~ ~ ~ So I got out the Owner's Manual and looked up which fuses were associated with the front wipers. Found one under the hood (in space 16), and one in the panel by the Steering Wheel (in space 12). There are no fuses for the headlight wipers in the rear panel. HERE's WHAT I DID; I removed each of the fuses and sprayed a small amount of 91% rubbing alcohol on the contacts, dripped off the excess, and then replaced those fuses. ~~~ Then, the next time I tried the headlight wipers, the driver's side wiper WORKED GREAT. Now I only need to fix the passenger side wiper! ~~~ I had also gotten the Sun Roof to work, whereas before it was sliding in strange positions . . I took out the 'interior accessory' fuses and cleaned them with rubbing alcohol, as well as the fuses that were labeled for the Sun Roof. Again, the Sun Roof works great now. Alcohol is known as a UNIVERSAL SOLVENT, it will clean off corrosion, dirt, grease, most anything that will reduce electrical contact. Soon, I am going to take 91% Alcohol, and carefully remove each of the fuses in all of the panels one by one, and spray them with the solvent, then replace them. My XC70 has over 180K miles on it, so there is a good chance of dirt, corrosion, and general issues with contact. I hope that you all enjoy my short novel and find this advice useful.
