DUDE! Thank you for being there with this! I tried swapping out all of the cables on the broken desk with the cables from a second working BEKANT and it didn't help. I was so afraid we were going to have to go through a lengthy IKEA warranty claim to get the motors replaced. But this trick TOTALLY FIXED IT! It went down SOOO SLOWLY making bad and worrying noises, then when it got to the bottom, both sides didn't hit at the same time. So I think maybe the two legs somehow got out of alignment. Once it went all the way down, it now goes up and down with no difficulty, like it realigned itself. If you are a person who is currently looking through these comments to decide if you're willing to risk pushing your desk all the way to the bottom out of fear that it won't come back up, count this comment as another vote for THIS WORKED FOR ME! 😀

We have a different problem - the desk goes down at a different speed on each side, so every time we move it, it slightly tilts to the left. Moving the desk all the way up and down only makes it worse, and this reset procedure helps - after the reset, we send it all the way down and the differences level off - then we can start using it again. Thank you!

Thanks so much for this fix. Mine wasn't moving at all and I thought it's completely broken. First the reset didn't do anything and I had to unplug my desk from the wall socket for one minute or so, put it back in, do the reset described in the video and everything is now working perfectly again. I just set up the Rodulf desk about an hour ago. It went up and down a few times with no issue, but then got stuck at the bottom. No amount of holding down both keys/long pressing one or the other, pressing 3 times, etc., did anything at all. Completely dead. I was hoping this video would fix mine, but sadly not. So I tried this, pressed the buttons and lowered the desk to the bottom - and it didn't work. So now with my desk stuck at the lowest position I felt trolled by this video lol. Then I realized the desk wasn't really lowered to the very bottom - I tried again and when it actually hit the very bottom then I could raise it back up again perfectly. So THANKS A MILLION!!!!!!!! Lesson: You need to make sure to lower your desk to the very bottom for this to work.

omg, you are amazing. This just happened to me 10 mins ago. I found your video and now its fixed. I had to lower the desk to the max before I could hold down both switches together and of course I was worried that if it didn't work I would be stuck with a very low desk. Awesome, it worked! Thank you so much! I was already wiring a special RJ45 cable with the serial pins connected to try to debug the "won't move up" problem, as it smelled like software issue (the Rodulf desk's ROL 68009090 unit has the pin names printed on the PCB and there seems to be RX, TX, RST, 5V too, in addition to UP, DN and GND that go to the button panel). But now I can actually move on and take the desk into use, thanks to you!
