I ve had another idea for a different donor and I'm also looking for a body I can cut up for a body kit. There will be a lot on these cars in the upcoming months. I've had to go back to the Falcon for a bit too. I also need to make a dozen distributors😃busy busy busy😉👍🍻

You and me both! I will but like a lot of these kits,I look for a simple fix and find more faults.😂😂😭 Swapping chassis would be vast improvement but would take a fair bit of work.🤔 I'm going back to my other projects,for a while,and let this A pillar fully harden as if I'm going to make it look like the wide body in the photo,it's going to take a lot of handling 🤔😕

Great series of videos on this Pete. It's always been a troublesome kit but looks like you're working it all out. It's one of the few amt kits that's retained almost all it's parts since the 1969 annual except for the custom front/rear custom roll pans and grills, never sure why they deleted those parts from the annual but never reappeared since. The red car box issue was the first time it came out since the annual and one of my first amt kits I bought so always had a soft spot for it, luckily got an original with the custom parts too so hopefully build that one day. Great videos anyways Pete, keep up the great work 🙂

Hi Pete!Iam just building the Torino too!I filed the holes for the axles with a roundfile just in the direction it has to be corrected and , voila , works like a charm so that the Wheels are aligned!I commented on Trevors vid,too!

Thats what id done with the rear,well,drilled it not slotted,but i was surprised to see the pins had already been moved. I was trying to keep it simple ,for others to try too👍😉. Havent heard from you in a while,Willi,are you keeping healthy🤞👍😉

After all that im glad its going back on the shelf for a few months while i finish the others. The older kits body is a much cleaner moulding than the 'new' one. My biggest concern is the dished in front fender. I think ive got another old release as a Talladega and i want to check the same fender on that. I hope someone else has a new one and try to spot same problem. Mine might be a one-off fault but it could be on all the new ones🤔

Moving the pins forward would be moving the chassis back, if I remember the physics involved in my training in Autobody Collision Repair. - Anyway, I read williwass6837's comment about everything shifting back and I had to try that for myself and see if moving the chassis frame back would move the interior back. I'll upload it and you'll see my results later tonight...or in the morning for you!

Pete, I took a 65 AMT Galaxie chassis and cut off the front snout and narrowed it removing 1/8 of an inch and used the body to get the proper wheelbase to create an accurate half Chassis" nascar race car. It is not that difficult to do. I use the 66-7 AMT Fairlane chassis from the front snout back. It has the correct ( inch rear end with leaf springs, which are then fitted with shock mounts for four shocks. Then the hoop in the rear firewall area can be used as the upper shock mounts. It creates the replica very accurately. The gas tank area of the 66 rear clip is removed and replaced with plastic sheet and a fuel cell replica is made. The chassis is then completed after a rear firewall blank is fabbed. Sounds like a lot, but really is not. Cheerio from across the pond.

I strongly recommend buying an earlier edition. The mould is much cleaner and crisper. The only bonus with the new one is pad printed tyres

Have you seen British Zephyrs or only Lincoln. There's some nice styles of British Ford's but they tend to be a third smaller than U.S. cars🤔smaller roads here designed by Orson Carte😂

The Fairlane chassis almost looks like it was made for the Torino. A few options there, I'd probably take out the molded in rear and replace it, but that's just me. Any of your ideas would work, always a few ways to fix problems.

Hi Ted. In one way,I wanted to correct it without major surgery. Which the blue one now has. But looking at the Fairlane, I do think that swap is feasible with a few cuts and infill panels. 🤔

Trevor is going to do another in depth video soon and I've found a new donor chassis. By the way,this vid is a couple of weeks old and we are both working on other projects aswell. I may have my next video on this in a week or two
