The only issue with this is the fact that if you're downloading it off a disk you can't start installing it off of the Microsoft store it'll try to make you buy it off the store

I had this issue where I tried to get in the game and it wouldn’t let me in. It said delete and reinstall so I tried that and it didn’t work. I kept getting the installation stopped and when I deleted it it would just appear when I re load my Xbox. It said my game was corrupted and the way I fixed this was to unplug my hard drive and force install it to my internal. I just wanted to put that out there if this video doesn’t help with your issue.

Hello, for anyone having the fun of installing a game by disc that is no longer availble on the store, I have the solution (what worked for me in 2024). 1. Pause the installation 2. Do a hard shutdown by pressing the xbox button on the console for ten seconds and disconnecting it from the power source. 3. Connect it back and start the Xbox 4. Go to the game in question and cancell the installation 5. When the installation stops go to the home page where you see the games, and click the uninstalled game with the start button (three lines) and open gamecard, in there, there should be an option to see the game in the microsoft store (sometimes it lags and doesn't want to open it, if so, try opening the normal store first) 6. When you see the game in the Microsoft Store, install and will work. Note. Sometimes when you cancell the installation, the uninstalled game won't show up on the home page, if so, restart the xbox, install the game and cancell (that's what I did). Glad this helps anyone installing games not on the store, by the way F u Microsoft for making people like me go crazy.

I'd imagine this video got a few dislikes, because what wasn't said in the video is, what is your network speed. these consoles require internet of some kind, but depending on what your using as internet, that will effect download speed. you also have to figure that, even when your not playing a game there are things that run in the background. so let's say your internet is on the slower side, but it's your only option at the moment. well there's only so much you can do, in your home the higher level you are, the stronger signal you'll receive which will help. but the lower you go in the house like a basement for example, well it's tricky getting a connection down. now if you have a router in the home, you don't have too much of an issue since it's strong enough to send data down to a lower level. but mobile data is different, and if your trying to use a hotspot for internet, it's trickier. because most cell towers have a certain range so depending on what you have, that can play into game installs stopping. so even if you do exactly what the uploader said in the video, it may not help everyone watching. plus he didn't say what his network speed was, he's just doing a demonstration, so for a game to stop installing on his end, he had to of used something a little slower. because your not gonna get any game to stop installing if you have normal internet in your home, most speeds now a days are pretty fast. even a 100mb plan now a days would be more than enough for most household, but the reason why you might need more is if more than one person in the home is using it. even then, your phone and someone's phone isn't gonna take much. but your xbox is a bit of a hog when it comes to bandwidth, that's because there are so many things about a console now a days that isn't just built for gaming anymore.

I bought the disc and it stopped installation at 69.7% did everything the video said and tried other videos on youtube too, it didn't work. My Xbox one x is just 12 days old and already have installed Gears 5 and Hitman 2. This is my third game installation and I'm facing the issues. Pls help me, Thank u!!

I have GTAV on disc and it would stop at 47GB when it’s 82GB. I’ve been really pissed about this until I found this video. Immediately helped me out 👍

I cant cancel the update. Last time I did that, it deleted the game. The game im updating is Modern Warfare. It took a WEEK to download that game. I cannot go through that again
