Hi Nick, I have a Yamaha RX A870 with no sound, could that be the chip as well and which chip is it?

It could be a very similar chip. You could remove the cover and take a look at the HDMI board to see if it has the same layout. If it does with the same chip in a similar location you could try heating it or freezing it and see if that makes a difference. If it does then you would have confirmed the fault. Sweet, can't wait to hear back on it. We are trying to fix more audio equipment but aren't as familiar with which units are in high demand for repair so we are having a hard time properly advertising/marketing for it.

@@NicksElectronicRepair Ok, I was able to start the work. I tried heating it up, but without success. I then changed the TMS320DA788 IC of the Pioneer VSX-321-K-P for a brand new. But I still have the same problem at the end, so no luck. Nothing seems wrong with the other components around the IC on examination and also when testing with the multimeter. This made me think of the flow source: Audio Sources (HDMI, SPDIF, etc.) → PCM9211 (Decoding and Selection) → PCM1681 (DAC Conversion) → Amplifier → Speakers. My next step will then be to work around the PCM9211 and PCM1681 from the same board, which are not too expensive pieces to buy, but crucial. Will see what happens next. But I have to order them first, if I need to change one of them, or both. I'll let you know how it goes.

HI Nick, I have Yamaha RX-V485. I am facing a issue where Receiver doesn't connect to the router in the 'wired' mode. It does connect in the 'wireless' mode perfectly - no issues there. I have checked for the faulty cable and the router ports. Both seem OK as other devices when connected there work Okay. Any suggestion what could be the issue? Thank you.
