Just installed a Zip in a D60. The seal housing Orings were standard Viton, so I measured and ordered some Viton x-rings from McMaster Carr, which seal better and last longer for this type of use. ARB switched to this Oring design as well.

I know everyone loves ARB's but I had nothing but problems with mine. I switched them out for an OX and Detroit and haven't had a problem since.

I appreciate a video that is not done by a complete moron, there are so many out there that I watch to learn how NOT to do things. Thank you for not being one of them. I bought a 1999 TJ with ARB lockers front and back. The back is a Dana 44 and works well, the front is a Dana 30 and does not work. I will be troubleshooting this as soon as I get done changing out the bushings on the long arm lift.

Cool man. I know that O'really brake clean is like $2 cheaper than the other stuff next to them, but really they are more money. You get like 10sec of blast and bam, out.

i have the factory airlockers in my 05 rubicon and theyre nothing but headaches, fittings rotted off the housings, compressors full of water and junk, constant leaks on the jury rigged system i use, it needs between 5-8psi to work and about 15psi blows the actuator apart so its a pain to regulate air accurately to that i end up doing it manually with a 2L tank and ball valve i dont know why someone hasnt made a "hydraulic" locker yet, similar to an air lock but use brake line 3/16" and a master cylinder with a push and lock lever in the cab, the actuator could be built much more stout as it can have hundreds of psi instead of a 5psi or 90psi system and imo everything would last longer parts much easier to get just need brake line and fittings and they could pick a popular small mastercylinder that you could get anywhere, sell it as a kit or just sell the locker and actuator with a port to insert pressure there

I know the 9 inch is legendary, but man the pinion is so low and seems to push the u joint capability on the tj wheel base.
@camerongurr69956 жыл бұрын
for a bit more cash you can get a high pinion for the 9" with scavenger oil feed

I was driving my jeep cherokee xj up a mountain pass and it stopped! The tachometer revved then a small leak of fluid and some smoke from under the hood. The check engine light came on. It drove down the mountain. Any ideas?
@howardhudson72146 жыл бұрын
My guess is if it's an automatic transmission it probably overheated, puked out the dipstick tube onto the exhaust or something hot. Hot trans slips and hot fluid smokes. Just a wild ass guess. Good luck.

Why don’t you like dual electric fans?
@Lray4x46 жыл бұрын
They don't pull as much air as a mechanical fan and often cause overheating issues. Plus if you are going through water allot the motors can short out.

Get a Detroit Locker or Torsen LSD that's how you fix an air Locker or electric

I have a Detroit in one 4x4, and an ARB in the other. They are both great. The ARB is better on the street.
@Lray4x46 жыл бұрын
@@adrianw3985 How so? An ARB is either open or fully locked like a spool, neither of those are great on the street.
