This is a bad idea imo. Bales greatest assets were his raw physical attributes his power and pace . TAA on the other hand its vision,passing and technique and a large reason he's had such a bad season defensively is his lack of recovery pace and relatively not as strong as other players. Makes more sense he does what joshua kimmich did and drop into midfield

I hear the VVD thing but it doesn’t make sense to me, why would you want to play bad and not have a rhythm to the World Cup. Because from that injury you don’t suddenly tell your brain to make quick movements, unless you get in situations consistently to get your body use to such movements, it’s basically useless to hold back because you can’t go full out in the world cup

His early crossing and switch play is his main strength I think making him play a harder position if he can’t hold down the easier one is not great

SOMEONE BRINGING UP ELLIOTT’s DEFENSIVE WEAKNESS. Thank you!! I think that’s been a huge problem with their issues. Hendo has dropped off so yes, there’s been less cover for Trent’s defensive flaws but Elliott doesn’t cover him well enough. I think that’s why Salah has been playing soooo insanely wide, almost invisible at times, because he’s been told to cover for trent/ the midfield defensive frailty. It’s not a coincidence that as soon as Mo was put centrally, he scored a fast hat trick and outperformed the City players. Elliott played MUCH better defensively on Sunday during city and Milner took over for Trent and that allowed Mo to just move forward, not think about covering for anyone and just work on getting a ball in the back of the net.

Pat clearly didn't watch Villa last season. Numbers improved over the first month for Villa but since then they were awful. Last 10 games of the season in particular were terrible. Perhaps we should compare Gerrards numbers to Smith when he finished 11th rather than when they lost 5 in a row. Obviously those numbers would improve. Realistically it doesn't matter what the xg difference is when you win 4 in 21 with the 7th biggest wage bill in the league

Need to move on from the initial questions a bit quicker lads, 20 mins on Liverpool alone at the start then you've to cram the rest into roughly the same time period. It's not the question its maybe the subject matter e.g, 20 mins on 3 or 4 teams is fine, just don't get caught up with the team in the initial question. People have mischaracterized Casemiro for almost a decade now. Because he played with both Modric and Kroos for so long, who were born with the special sauce flowing through their veins, he has been described as a more simple player. His role has been simpler than theirs, yes, and he has always played with less polish, but he's a very dynamic and well rounded midfielder. People act like he's the Brazilian Fellaini when in reality he plays like a better and more modern Gilberto Silva. The man does great work in debatably the most mentally and physically taxing position on the field.

Liverpool have world class players in nearly every position and still didn't beat a single top 4 team last season and scored 0 goals in the finals they got to. They got spoon fed the easiest run to a cl final I've seen in a long time and despite non stop talk of a quadrupled the only trophies they took home were gifted on pens from Chelsea in games where they were 2nd best for 120mins.
