How to fix your favorite headphones (mini jack replacement) || How-to-fix tutorial

In this video I'm demonstrating how to fix your favorite headphones by replacing the mini jack. When one of the channels or both start to interrupt, click or pop it usually means the wire is broken. In most cases it wears out somewhere near the jack.

Thunda47 Productions i know how to fix it if its the problem that u only hear music amd tiny Sounds of the peoples talking then i got u bro i just npw got my earbugs fix Rn and only thing u need to do act like ur mad and slaming ur earbugs on the floor but for me i didnt slam it to hard i only slam the ear peices and if it dont work slam both of them and the metal peice that goes inside phones or xbox controller what ever it is, just do it,it works half of time

I doubt the jack is broken in your case. Have you tried using your headphones with another device?

Yes I have and the problem still existed, but I changed the balance settings on my laptop to 80 and 0 and it works pretty well now. I have no idea how to do that on my phone though

What if one earbud has sound, but has a scratchy/staticy sound and the other is perfectly fine? How would fix the other?

it seemed like a daunting task, and honestly, it still does. but, with this video on hand, I'll give repairing my samson sr850's a try. the sound is unlike any other headphones I own. I've got a pair of airbuds, a sony wh1000xm3 and a hyperX cloud 2, and after a while you get used to headphones which sound like those do: bassy, muddy, kind of shallow...but then I tried my samsons again, two years after the jack broke. I can get them to work by slightly bending the wires into a position in which they make contact, but it's never a long term solution. the sound was mind blowing though, so I finally decided to risk it and fix the damn thing. thanks for the video, and wish me luck!!

What is wrong with your sound exactly? Have you tried bending your wire? It doesn't have to be broken near the jack - it can also be a random location.

I would check the earbuds with a different phone/tablet. If the issue is still there, use the RMA procedure.

You could check the wire near the bud. If it's not the cable, I'm afraid you won't be able to do much more.

Have you tried moving your cable? Is the sound interrupted?

Your last comment was held by KZbin as spam and I couldn't approve it. If the sound is interrupted when you move the cable, this means it's broken somewhere. Usually it's near the plug. You can try following this video and replace your plug.

I've broken like 20 earplugs, one was because the wires broke, one was because I left them on the floor so my aunts retarded ass dog chewed them up, and now I can only hear out of one earplug what the fuck am I doing wrong

The heat from the solder should dissolve the enamel on the wires shouldn't it?

You're right - heat from the soldering iron can melt the enamel coating and I know some people do it like that. However, if you care about your soldering iron tip, it's not the best solution. If you don't wan't to use sandpaper, you can burn the enamel with a lighter. Just do it quickly - enamel burns quite easily.

The one I used in the video is Neutrik NTP3RC. It's available on eBay, but I'm not sure if you have access to eBay. I'm sorry but I don't know Pakistani retailers. I hope you'll find it somehow.

Have you tried plugging in your headphones to another device, let's say a PC? You could also borrow another pair of headphones from a fiend to check if they work properly with your phone. This way you could check the phone itself.
