You are absolutely right. I did an experiment in my home in Florida. I got into the habit of unplugging unused items ate night. I did this for three months and compared my bills with previous bills without unplugging. My savings was between $125 to $175 each month.

I do this regularly, but I do need to restart it more often for the hard reset. I haven't had any problems. Once in a blue moon, it may freeze up, and then I definitely unplug the power for a hard reset.

Good info, except in my situation it doesn’t work, when I put my 4k max in sleep mode, it doesn’t stay in sleep mode when I turn off my tv and put it back on.

You can't touch any keys on your remote. Also you might be using a hdmi. Port that your tv remote can control it. Switch hdmi ports? Problem solved

Shouldn't get warm in sleep mode. Only active mode if you have too many apps open (they don't close on their own)

Mine turns off everytime I turn the TV off as it is powered by a little interface connected to a USB port and isn't mains powered. Works really well too.

Always put it into sleep every night. Turning your TV off doesn't do anything. I unplug my firestick a couple times a week.

Using a different plug than Amazon on my firestick keeps shutting down I tried pulling the plug and setting to restart still shutting off BTW its an older firestick

Sounds like the power isn't right. Can't just use any adapter. Did you try plugging directly into the tv usb!

My “older” Firestick just shows Amazon with the arrow and that’s all, will not boot up. Tried unplug and plug back in a dozen times.

Sounds like you haven't restarted in a long time. Probably doing an update. Just be patient

That's a boot loop. Power issue or you turned it off while an update was going on. I always recommend turning off that setting. You will have to factory reset it. We have videos on boot loop fix. Should help
