How to Fix Your GORETEX Waterproofs | Repairing Rips & Tears

We all know that gut wrenching feeling when your favourite piece of kit breaks. As outdoor folk, our gear regularly takes a battering. It keeps us safe, warm and dry in the harshest environments and no matter how well we take care of it, every now and then something will get damaged.
Today we're showing you how to fix rips, tears or holes in your waterproofs. In our example, it's a pair of Montane GORETEX Paclite Plus waterproof trousers, but this method will work on all types of GORETEX as well as other waterproof materials. It's a simple and easy process that will help elongate the life of your well loved gear!

Would also point out its a good idea to round the sharp corners of the patch when cutting. This way it will help prevent it from lifting off from the garment eventually.

Handy wee tip… I’m sure I used those patches on my old Berghaus bottoms a few times, really stood up against the weather … Cheers again,,, ATB 👍

They do work really well and it’s always nice to extend the life of the kit we often pay so much for. Megs put another hole on her waterproof trousers today with a crampon up a Munro 😂 Guess I’ll be doing another repair. Appreciate you watching 🙏

Would this work on a car seat tho the seat has heat option i do use it quit often in winter ? I kinda wanna try it

Hey, it should work, there’s also other patches that may be better depending on your seat material.
