I had the same deal with the busted up rubber which eventually fell off. The good news is, my 07 MCS does have a button that I can find easily and get in the trunk. If that little button hops off I’ll do your replacement. Thanks!

Oh, my gosh, how easy was that! With my 2010 Mini, I have exactly the same problem, but my FOB won't even open the trunk. Just wondering if these are standard size when I buy one? I'm 78 and love doing what I can by myself -- thanks to my dad. Love, love your video!!

Does it have 2 antennas? I see one on the back passenger fender but what is mounted on the top of the trunk? I have a r59

Brian my R58 doesn't have trunk release above the lic plate, apparently true of all R58. Drives me nuts! Any way to wire a electric release?

Last time I had to replace the plastic cover on the trunk handle comes primed from factory so I had to take it to a paint shop to match with color of the body.

FYI: There is a gasket that goes between the body and the new part.

Replaced mine cause it stopped working. Really easy todo. I noticed I had water in the boot/trunl door. Managed to get it out but can only think the only way water got in is through the book handle. possibly the screws. Anyone else find this and what was the solution?

You can still save some money and do some extra effort to change the switch button under the rubber, it costs me 6-7$ for the button+rubber
