Shanice Bell thank you!! It’s definitely a great style for transitioning. That’s the phase that my hair was in for this video.

I tried this the other day and I LOVE it! I forgot to "twist and roll" for some of the rods so I did have a few Shirley Temple curls but it still came out beautifully. I used the shea moisture curl and style milk and motions foaming mousse. Thank you for this tutorial!

Btw, how do you maintain this style?

kriss kross yay! I'm glad it worked out for you. This is when I was transitioning and had more length to kind of pineapple it at night.
@KristaaRae7 жыл бұрын
Okay. I kinda developed my own twist to the pineapple where I put the back of my hair into a loose, low ponytail and Bobby pin the front and sides to keep them in place. Thank you!
@lyasiainthecity7 жыл бұрын
kriss kross that sounds like a great idea. I'll try it one day. Right now I preserve wash and gos and twist outs by just putting my hair and two loose ponytails like pippy long stocking 😂

hii omg this came out beautiful ! do you think you would’ve achieved the same curls if your hair was soaking wet ?
@lyasiainthecity6 жыл бұрын
Victoria Watson yes. Although in this video my hair was washed the night before, I typically do it the same day as I wash but still on damp hair. The curls will still come out the same on soaking wet hair, it’ll just take longer to dry 🤗

My ends are EXACTLY like yours but I don't use heat. I wear it in a bun almost every day! I've been watching videos and every one of them says to cut those ends off so I did. Six inches gone. I cut it to where my hair got curly/coily...but my ends are now wavy and I can see that they are going to be straight again. What do you think they problem might be?

@lyasiainthecity5 жыл бұрын
Gloria Jones thank you. My hair is thick. I was transitioning in this video so I still had some relaxed hair which is thinner than the natural hair that was growing in. But overall my hair is really thick.

@lyasiainthecity7 жыл бұрын
Epiphany H. Hi! I'm not really sure. Maybe 3C/4A 🤷🏽♀️ I don't really pay attention to the hair typing thing lol Plus, I was transitioning in this video so I still had relaxed hair on the ends. I hope you give this style a try 🤗

So beautiful! I have a question. How do you get it to stay like that all day? Mine will only last about 5 minutes (if that) if I'm lucky. And that's being literal....
@lyasiainthecity7 жыл бұрын
Kia Brooks thank you! At that time, I would put my hair in a loose pineapple and get at max 3 days out of it. I'm working on trying to show a good way to preserve rod set curls.

Loving this! Can you please share with me your hair type? We have the same hair and I don't know what my hair type is... LOL..Much older than you... I'm nearly 62 and my hair has become a true pain!
@lyasiainthecity6 жыл бұрын
C Blair I can’t say that I really know my hair type because I don’t bother with hair typing as it doesn’t really matter to me. But I would assume I’m probably 3c/4a 🤗
@cblair37026 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your quick reply. I'm following you now. Our hair is just too similar. I think I have 3 grades of hair on my head... My ancestory is Australian Aborigne, Middle-Eastern, Asian, African and European. Can't stand it. Looking for an easy style. Tempted to cut it all off!
@cblair37026 жыл бұрын

@lyasiainthecity6 жыл бұрын
Chantelle Hunter mixed transitioning video? Not sure what you mean. Deep conditioning weekly, sleeping with a bonnet or silk scarf, maybe try to L.O.C method before styling (leave in, oil, cream)

Is there a substitution instead of moose?
@lyasiainthecity7 жыл бұрын
Deliyah Harris I've used a light cream (Camille Rose Naturals Coconut Water Style Setter) for a perm rod set before. You can try using a cream if you don't like the mouse. The lottabody mouse is lightweight and doesn't make it hard.
