I love the amount of caution and respect going towards the goats used in the demonstration. Yes, they don't understand, and while it's important for us to see exactly how it should be done, he takes the time throughout the process to reassure and use caring gestures on the goat to show they've not done anything wrong, this is a one-time deal of sorts. Loving them is important. Showing them you care is important.

@corvidconfidential8826
@corvidconfidential8826 3 жыл бұрын
@@damianmorningstar3150 so, a kid messed with you and picked a fight, you fought back, and in return your father whipped you? Jeez, that's not very good parenting. My mother taught me how to fight, block, etc. But after teaching basics, made sure I was moreso taught how to avoid them and to do it in defense. She just asked that I don't pick or start fights, but always finish them. Granted, I'm from CA where they punish both parties, even suspending both kids when a bully beats one up, so I always thought I would get in trouble, so ehh.... didn't get to use the knowledge very much....still, I hope after your fight that the kid never touched your milk again. ^~^
@KeiosKod
@KeiosKod 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that’s terrible. That just says that he was more concerned with having possibly shamed in public over his own child. There’s nothing wrong with defending yourself from bullies. Screw adults who say otherwise, especially the teachers who never handle it and just mete out punishment to all or, worse, just to the student who was acting in self-defense. No matter what the cartoons and movies try to tell you, teachers aren’t reasonable authority figures you can go to for your problems. Heck, this should be eminently obvious assuming you’re an adult yourself now, working with other people.
@nephatrine
@nephatrine 3 жыл бұрын
@@KeiosKod Self-defense should be only what is needed to stave off the attacker - even as an adult there can be consequences if you defend yourself using more force than the attacker. A milk carton being poured onto you barely counts as an attack and so initiating physical combat is hardly a proportional response much less a necessary one.
@KeiosKod
@KeiosKod 3 жыл бұрын
@@nephatrine I disagree here. A pacifistic response won’t protect a kid in school, let’s be realistic. Physically fighting back to that kind of thing is what wards off further bullying attempts. I’m not saying a kid should beat the teeth out of their bullies, but some pummeling is definitely needed. Being patient or asking a teacher for help won’t produce any real, tangible results. The latter especially, since they’d just give the same advice you’re saying and have the kid bear with it and the bully getting what’s tantamount to a slap on the wrist, if anything.

I've watched this video before but I wanted to let you know that I finally had to flip my buckling. He actually caught me off guard and poked a hole in my leg drawing blood. I did exactly what you showed me to do in this video. later on he got frisky around me but this time I was prepared for what he was going to do. He bumped me on the side of the leg and continued to press on with his Horns and attitude. In total within a period of 15 minutes I had to flip him 3 times. the fourth time he came for me he brushed his body against me and decided that putting his horns to work was a bad idea. I'm sure he'll try again, but your instruction has been very useful. Marc, I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the time you take teaching me to care for, love and nurture my goats. The goat I was rewarding was cool, the other goat was flaring nostrils and huffing and puffing. Okay I've been a fan of yours for quite a while and I also have a herd of Alpine goats whom are like family to me and recently my five-month-old Alpine buck has become ornery wanting to jump up and headbutt me or try to Horn me in the back or hit me with his horns. Well this morning was the first time I've ever flipped the goat. I did it exactly like you said to do it and I was blown away! It worked!😅 my goat was laying on his back upside-down I stood over him and yelled and his face and said no no no! I walked away from him he's slowly got up and looked at me very perplexed and then he just stood there looking broken hearted. LOL I felt bad for him and then I walked away and he walked behind me calling me as to say I'm sorry. Then I stopped and petted him on the back told him good boy and then he has to behave well for the next few hours he was perfect gentleman. We'll see what happens tomorrow. But thank you for the great advice😊😊😊

Super similar to goat flipping.

You probably hear this a lot but just wanted to thank you for posting this video. We have a 12 month old buck who kept coming over to me and rubbing his head on me and pushing me gently with his horns and would stand in my way and not move, also began to raise up on back legs in attack position. So I flipped him and he submitted, got up and started pushing me again. So I flipped him again and now he doesn't push me or rub up against me and I can walk right through him and he backs down and walks away. I'm amazed! Thanks so much, Daniel, Denmark

Thanks for sharing. My dad just passed, and he has a farm that I have now inherited. We have goats and a donkey. I am such an animal lover, and I am learning that these goats are not like pets. Feeding time is the worst. Yesterday, my 2 yr old male goat charged me from behind right in my thigh to get to the food. I make excuses all the time for him. I always think he didn't mean to do it, but now, seeing this video, I think he did. He has gradually headbutt me before. Then more intense the next time. Each time is amped up a bit. Yesterday was the absolute worst. Again, thanks for sharing this video, I learned a lot.
