This guy helped me to be calm through knowledge as I was shaky just watching her and him experience the min & max turn and stall! When she said let's stop their I was saying thank goodness I was done too. So much to learn!

Thanks Aaron! Just finalized the design on the paint scheme the other day. That's going to be video #5 in the series.

Two things: love the microwave in the office. Also…taking out that notch of flaps at stall speed, before getting positive acceleration and/or climb. I have done it. No problem at altitude, but potentially a problem elsewhere. Don’t take that as anything other than friendly advice from another newbie like you. You are both great pilots. Love the videos you guys do. Thanks for sharing.
@ChaseAviation Жыл бұрын
Haha. Thanks! It's a great looking microwave. And agree on the flaps... shows why on a go around you make sure to jam the throttle first.

@@ChaseAviation First time I made that move, my CFI treated me like a second grader that still wets the bed. But I respond to that kind of pressure and he knew it. Please keep sharing your experiences, as you can. It feels like GA is growing, and I think many new entrants are coming from "outside" the traditional aviation community. KZbin channels like yours are probably a big part of that. I know how much work it takes to make and edit these things, so it's appreciated.

Well, that even made me a little uneasy. But then again my piloting has only been in the RC planes for 30 years. lol. So GREAT job Kim.
@ChaseAviation3 жыл бұрын
You should strap a stripped down GoPro to one of the RC planes and do some stalls. That would be some great KZbin content!

As a low time pilot, I appreciate you showing the unedited landing as it lets us know you're human. BTW great job on transitioning to a new airframe. As for paint schemes I'm a big fan for Formula 1 racing so maybe look at some of their liveries. Subscribed

Glad you recognize and appreciate that. We're trying to keep this channel as "real" as possible. We edit stuff down for time, but ultimately not afraid to show us learning along the way.

We thought about incorporating something like a checkered flag design on the tail but ultimately it went a little too F1 for us. We'll talk more about the design choices in video #5.

Wow. Talk about timing. I'm almost in prebuy on a 2004 SR22. Since I'm doing this with a buddy, we will be paying for the training for one pilot. This was great to watch. I'm guessing the 3 day course is about $2,000. Thanks for the vid.

So here’s some unsolicited advice. As soon as you have a contract on the plane, get in touch with Cirrus Embark embark.cirrusaircraft.com and fill out their form. They will reach out and set you up with the Cirrus Approach courses which are INCREDIBLE. We waited until after we owned it and regret that.
@in2flying3 жыл бұрын
@@ChaseAviation it’s going to be interesting as we both need the training and how we’re going to do that as we’re not local to the plane but thank you. Soon as it clears the contracts I’m gonna start the ground school! Was it a full 3 days for the flying portion?
@ChaseAviation3 жыл бұрын
Between lousy NY weather and our instructors schedule, we’ve only been able to squeeze one day of flight training in. We’ll definitely use up all three days and will probably do a few more for the IFR stuff.

You have a blank canvas on that plane, I would not spend the tens of thousands of dollars painting it, I will have them wash it down and wrap it. The possibilities of what you do to it is endless with a wrap, Great videos keep it up.
@ChaseAviation3 жыл бұрын
I know, I thought about it a lot. There's enough cosmetic flaws that it really does NEED paint though. So my option would have been completely strip and repaint it white, then do decals and that would have been 75% of the cost. Just gotta smile and write the check at this point!
@2bincwrkshop2bincwrkshop873 жыл бұрын
In a past video you spoke about getting this plane painted. If the white is in decent shape, vinyl wrap may be a solution. I recently saw another youtuber have his plane vinyl wrapped. Jimmy’s world is his channel name if you are interested in seeing what he had done.
@ChaseAviation3 жыл бұрын
Jimmy is the man! Haven't seen his video on decals though. I've heard of other Cirrus owners who have done some level of wrap / decal instead of paint. It seems like a pretty gray area in terms of the legality especially when it comes to wrapping a composite airframe with the use of a heat gun. I did give some consideration to stripping and repainting it all white, then doing a lot of decals... but by the time I spent all that money, I might as well go the rest of the way. We have the design done and working on that video now. Stay tuned!

I have 50 hours in a cirrus and I’m looking to get some more training. Can you give me Greg Barhard’s contact info? I like the way he instructed in your video. I have a throwaway email you can send it to or just lead me to a place I can find it. Thank you. I’m not sure if that is your plane but avidyne has an upgrade that came out this month for 24k.

And yes, it’s my plane. Planning to do a complete Garmin panel. Avidyne’s upgrade looks like a good one but won’t even be available until 2023.
