thanks for producing this. Ive been having lots of issues with mine (and Ive flown quite a few cheap quads and expensive micro helis so I'm not completely new) and I think part of it is going from normal transmitter controls to "soft" phone controls. Having someone go through it step by step is really helpful! So I am thinking (or hoping) control issues I have are due to my inexperience with the WiFi UFO app (android, Galaxy S7) rather than problems with the model requiring RMA drama to China. on mine, when I start the app and pair it to the aircraft, then start the motors, the aircraft tries to jump to an altitude of around 4 feet or sometimes 6 feet, which often means it hits the ceiling. If I start the app and repeatedly pull down on the stick I can get it to idle properly. Restarting the app later though, I gotta remember to do this again or it might jump 2 or 3 height settings and crash again. What I want to do is fly this quad normally with the throttle and no steps or holds. Am I supposed to start the bird in altitude hold mode and the auto launch button, then switch controls to "normal" with the throttle stick then allowing me to go from zero to full throttle?

Excellent! Your video helped me get started with my mini drone. Got it talking to the WIFI, revving up and so on. Then it leaped into the air and attacked me, I wound up having to unravel some long hair that got wound around a rotor. Had the same problem with a beanie propeller hat years ago, so I'm kinda good at it.

This is a great tutorial! I wish we had drone flying apps that also showed weather conditions. That way, I will have to constantly check weather apps like Weather Underground or Weather by Tomorrow.

This is a very good explanation, and is needed because there is usually no proper manual provided with these apps. My UFO Drone uses one called Wifi UAV, but it is virtually identical to the one in this video. I did find a couple of oddities. It seems that if you are in 30% rates, yaw (i.e. spinning) no longer works, although it does in the 60 and 100% rates. There were also some settings that are still a mystery to me. The Headless mode comes in handy if the quadcopter is too far away for you to see the orientation. You can still fly it back because it "knows" the direction it came from.

Nice video. It's amazing how many WiFi quads can use those two apps for viewing FPV (though not always for flying). I think it's because most proprietary apps are based on them. They can be a handy fall-back option especially on older phones/tablets

Because this is my first quad I had a lot to learn, and still do. Because my thumbs were so large in comparison to the iPhone 6s screen I downloaded the app onto my iPad instead which, because the app is really for the iPhone doubles the screen size. Much better for big thumbs!

Thanx a lot, These companies don't really worry about helping us with their chinglish instructions...the one I've got and for which you nearly need a microscope to read have written Andrews and this mean Android! as for the rest it about as bad. So it's nice to see clear instruction. I was a little worried that your app demo was not going to be a general as said but My KY FPV App was quite similar :) But I found it very difficult to fly with it. First of all thank you for the video, very well done. Do you know how to effectively use the VR mode? It seems it was designed for the user to wear the smart phone using a headset, while using a second smart phone as the controller. Problem is I can't connect both of them to the wifi signal at the same time - it gives an error message. Thanks!

Thank you for explaining the controls in the app. Unfortunately, the Stinger drone I purchased came with very little instructions and no instruction for the app so I was glad to come across your video. The only thing that was different is that the mode (hourglass symbol) when you said to press the bottom left arrow to turn the engines on my drone actually turned on a took off. I tried again touching the arrow like you showed to shut it off but it just kept going so I had to hit the stop button to get it to stop then it just dropped out of the sky like you stated, glad it wasn't high up. I guess I was supposed to adjust the trim at that point? Or should I have just pulled back on the left controller to make it stay on the ground?

I need help! On my drone the WiFi is listed as KY720-946E2DBE It is a 802.11g protocol. It connects and is marked "no internet access" or "limited." JJRC is the only App that works for me, and if you happen to own the JJRC H47 plus, the controller for it will work with this H37 type models even though they may be branded something else!

Very good training video and you solved one of my issues I was having with the JJRC Elfie. I couldn't understand why the lights were always blinking in what I thought was LVC. Now I know that is was headless mode indicator. But this create's a another question, does it have a LVC warning? And if it's blinking lights, how can you tell in your flying in Headless mode?

And you mention the auto land button, on my testing with the JJRC Elfie it basically just seems to drop it out of the sky, almost no difference that using the stop button. Do you really get a nice soft landing with the auto land down arrow?

If so, will you be able to show me how? As I have a few Smart Phone cameras with up to 21mp lying around my hobby shack. 2) What's the average per charge flying time and how long does it take for a full charge? 3) I currently have one F181 6 Gyro Quadcopter but stupidly, I ordered the one without Wifi. It records HD video though I have never been able to capture myself in the screen being unable to see it on an app when flying. By any chance, do you have an idea as to how I can perhaps connect a wifi card to it and use the app? 4) Lastly, I also have an old (in fact, new as it has only been flown thrice before I gave up...lol) it's the Doublehorse 900 Helicopter. It would take off but will fly sideways after about 1m in height, no matter what I did. Any professional suggestion, sir? Very much appreciate your help in whatsoever way. Here goes.... 1) No idea about upgrading camera, this is a very lightweight quad and couldn't carry much more weight. 2) I usually state it in the review summary, if I didn't let me know. 3) Sorry not something I have ever done as if it doesn't come with WiFi I don't add it. 4) Even if I was familiar with it, could be all manor of reasons, if you can calibrate it, that is always a good start.
