That's so cool. In gliding we teach pilots to fly in "formation" before they go solo: behind the tug. It's one of the hardest skills they learn.

I once flew in formation with 2 other aircraft. Sitting in the flying club watching our departure and arrival were 3 RAF instructors from the CFS. On landing, one offered the advice: 'Leave formation flying to those that are paid to do it!'. Good advice in my opinion.

Lovely to see those two Robin 200s, I have a Robin 200 and there aren't that many. Great visibility super accurate and responsive controls... but its a greenhouse in direct sunlight!

AFC have another HR200 (G-ECAP) which used to be registered as G-NSOF when at Sywell in Northamptonshire. She was the first aircraft I ever flew 😊

An interesting video, lots of interesting points and goes to show how complex this is and how much training is involved ✌️😊👍💜

I'd love to have a go at that sometime! I've recently done differences training for complex, which was a lot of fun.

ISuper video. love the clocks in the briefing room. Really do, (I'm french and work for Paris Information so) I speak a lot with british pilots mainly to/from Deauville or Le Touquet, always a pleasure. Fly safe !

Sorry to be "that guy" but it's one of my pet peeves and more people need to hear it. Right at the end of the video your straps are poorly adjusted. They will do nothing with the buckle up on your stomach. Please try to get out of the habit of tugging down on the shoulder straps and get into the habit of tugging on the lap straps instead. The lap straps should be low on your bony hips, not high up on your soft tissues. Also, in order to suck eggs you just need to......

I agree with this. In my robin, there is a few inches beyond my knees to the panel, and it's got all the safety of an early 1970s car. What the lap strap must do is keep your knees off the panel. If you have an accident, you won't get out with two broken legs. The shoulder straps have very little strength and usually fail in a moderate impact.
