Just an FYI -- Crafty Critta in Australia sells COLORED toner sheets, so you're not just stuck with black. I still like the idea of being able to use waste foil on patterned paper, though, so this was definitely helpful. Thanks!

Mind Blown! 🤯 I'm gonna have to check that out! TFS!

Thank you for some great tips. The only thing I would add is to use a bone folder, old credit card or brayer to smooth out the bubbles when applying the foil to the adhesive sheets.

Any color of toner works well. It doesn’t have to be black. Heat and Bond light is a much cheaper option than hot melt sheets!
@NicoleWattCreates Жыл бұрын
Yes - as I've shared with many of the comments here, Therm-o-Web is the maker of Heat & Bond - which comes in various strengths and is usually used for sewing. The Heat & Bond light works just like the hot melt sheets, and may be found at a lower price point at your local fabric store! Unfortunately, many crafters don't have access to a color laser printer to print out their own toner sheets, and rely on industry ones that typically only come in black on white, kraft, or clear.

I was just thinking.....could probably use double sided iron on interfacing. It looks very similar and might be more cost effective. I have some and will try it.
@NicoleWattCreates Жыл бұрын
Yup - it's the same thing! I recommend the lightweight interfacing, but any you have should work!
@LDruma Жыл бұрын
Also frabic spray adhesive works. Lightly spray cardstock and process as normal.

I just did the double sided interfacing, it worked great. I also left the clear film on, so the sticky bits, spaces stay covered.
@NicoleWattCreates Жыл бұрын
@@LDruma awesome! Thanks for sharing! I found that I was able to remove the clear film and it was not sticky afterwards. Though, it took a bit of muscle to rip it off!

Thanks for the love! I'm glad that you found the tips and technique helpful. Here's another tip: If you happen to have any sewing products sitting around - Heat n Bond (also by Therm-o-web) is basically the same product. It's a no-sew fuser. You might get it cheaper by the yard (or in package) as Heat n Bond. The Heat n Bond Lite seems to be about the same weight. Either way - have fun!

@@NicoleWattCreates Thank you so much for the additional product ideas, I will check them out (as I am not a passionate sewing person the approach to glue rather than sew resonates with me too 🤭)

You can print a design on any color paper with a toner printer & foil it with your Mink or laminator.
@NicoleWattCreates Жыл бұрын
True - but this video was showing how you can use the leftover foil pieces without having to use a solid toner sheet.

Thanks so much for sharing this technique. I love reusing the foil waste but of course don’t always want the black. I’ve seen the adhesive toner but didn’t know how to use it.

Thank you so much for sharing this technique! I just foiled a whole bunch of things and was planning to get black toner sheets but wished for there to be a way to transfer the foil to something that’s not black! Thank you again! So excited to try the new sheets you mentioned! 💕

Very cool! Did you make the carrier that you use to put your foils through the laminator? It's really clever!

Could you use embossing powders and a heat gun on the remaining sticky parts?
@NicoleWattCreates Жыл бұрын
maybe, however I find that the areas without foil aren't actually sticky afterwards. The heat-n-bond, or hot melt sheets simply cool to a glossy finish - no stick!
@hollylowery262 жыл бұрын
I would try sticking the foil down with a brayer.
@NicoleWattCreates2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, without toner sheets, or another material like transfer gel or these transfer sheets, the foil does not come off of the carrier sheet.
