There is a correct way to turn the tongs depending if your right or left handed. (It makes the tongs lay back into your palm instead of falling out if that makes sense)

Unless you offset the reigns inward so they are both centered. That eliminates the difference between the left and right handedness.

Your power hammer's anvil part is quite rickety, it dissipates kinetic energy from the hammer's blows. Maybe fix it somehow so it won't move so much?

Thank, the anvil is less than ideal since its not solid. But the movement is actually from the fact that its on an uneven surface and not bolted down (the base could have been thicker too). Once the ground thaws out in a couple more weeks I am going to be doing some ground work in the shop thaf will hopefully help this issue.

Too darn cold for me to forge right now.

Its been decently warm here lately. We had a cold snap a couple weeks ago of negative 30s and 40s, but its been staying up around 0 for almost 2 weeks now.

@@northernforgeblacksmith Ya I know I live in North Pole. You're much braver than me to forge in the snow this year. I've done it before but my arthritis hates me for it. I have a vid of me teaching a few kids how to make a hook last winter.

Ahhh. Cool. I didn't realize you were so close. I finally have a roof to keep the future snow off. Been using small campfires to try and clear out whats left of the first dump that came down this year before I could finish the roof.

@@northernforgeblacksmith yes it's been pretty bad. I usually pull the truck out of the pole barn and work in that when I use coal. Usually in my unheated shed. Using propane

Yeah. My shop is essentially a pole barn. Still have to finish the other half though.
