This video will teach you how to form a concrete slab.
My company, Day's Concrete Floors, Inc. is forming a 30' x 28' x 6" concrete slab for a garage.
I'll show you all the steps needed to build the forms, square the slab, drive in the metal stakes and get the slab ready to pour.
My company specializes in forming and pouring concrete slabs. We install concrete slabs for garages, houses, sheds, and storage buildings.
If you want to learn how to build the forms and pour a concrete slab, I have included a link to my training course below. In the course I teach you everything I know about forming concrete slabs and pouring them too.

I switched to screws too but always had trouble with the screw tip getting clogged by concrete or dirt and getting stripped out. Finally I found the PERFECT SCREW! You’ve got to try the screws made for metal buildings that are 2.5” long. They have a 1/4” tip (that is a tip that is connected on the outside of the screw) it never clogs and I have ended up reusing these dozens of times if you collect them when stripping the forms. I’m hoping to start a trend in the pro concrete community using them. They’re not very expensive either and the fact that they are reusable is even better. Much love Mike! Keep up the good work

Hi Mike, great vid. Ive used a lot of dewalt but prefer the bosch stuff for most tools now, find them better made for same price comparatively. Also as you are already aware the slab is only as good as the preparation already done, I would be concerned about the depth of stone/hard core and whether its been compacted correctly. I dont trust other peoples work. Good idea with steel pins though. Regards Jon

What do you do for frost protection,just gravel base and float the slab cuz that doesn't pass the stupid codes in PA
@MikeDayConcrete
@MikeDayConcrete 3 жыл бұрын
Now, our state has a code that says we have to put 2" styrofoam under all slabs 600 sq ft or more. Under 600 and just a good gravel base is good, slope all exterior back fill away from the slab. Never really have a problem if enough gravel is installed.

Cool video! By chance, I did my garage slab exactly like this (I have videos posted). Six inch solid slab, up to 8" in most of the center where the ground was lower than the form edges. To those always screaming about footers and rebar - Those things are coded for longevity in the face of "frost heave," moisture, and full cracking. Here in NM, or as I call it "The Surface of Mars," these things are practically nonexistent. A slab this thick, for such a small garage, on such solid dry ground, will see decades without any issues. It just depends on the region. I imagine these guys know what they're doing. d-(^_^)

i dont know what New Mexico youre talking about... or if you know anything about mars.. but the surface of mars is freezing.. colder than anywhere on Earth
@inawrocki207
@inawrocki207 2 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewBrowner Mars is actually frequently warmer in places than some of Earth's colder regions in the winter. They can be surprisingly similar. That said, it was more of a reference to the lack of moisture. Frost heave is more a factor of moisture in the dirt freezing, expanding, and "heaving" the surface out of place from said expansion. We are one of the driest places on Earth, with heavily oxidized red soil, and fierce wind; making it a fair comparison to the surface of Mars. Which New Mexico are YOU talking about? :)
