Had a kit that looked like this. Used different bolts did not use small snap ring, and drilled out a thin fender washer to take up shifter side slack.

I just used the parts that come with the kit. I didn’t have the bike very long after that but it worked fine while I had it after the install.

4 years later how they hold up?

I no longer have the bike but they did just fine while I owned it

I have a 2021 iron 1200. Would this fit on it? Wanting to do forward controls
@ncmotorider2 жыл бұрын
I’m not completely sure but I would assume so as long as they didn’t change too much.

How did that grease do on there? Seems like it would attract dirt and get gummed up
@ncmotorider5 жыл бұрын
I have not had any issues with the forward controls at all. I have not had them apart since I installed them so no idea how the inside is looking where the grease is.

Are you riding on the 2019 model harley davidson sportster 883n
@ncmotorider4 жыл бұрын
No...it’s a 2018 Sportster 1200 Iron
@jc56046 жыл бұрын
Is that the Harley brand? Websites still haven't caught up to matching parts for the Iron 1200. I usually have to pick the 2017 883 bike. Annoying, but doable. Just curious because HD is a $500 kit.
@ncmotorider6 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delayed reply! No these are not Harley brand. These are Raider brand. So far, they have held up great. And for $150, that beats the hell out of the $500 set from Harley!

Hey man I know this video is a few years old but do you remember if you had any trouble getting the little ball joint connected on the brake side?? I spent probably an hour trying to screw that thing in and threw in the towel, maybe I just had a shitty part!?
@ncmotorider2 жыл бұрын
It seems like I remember using an OEM piece with the forward controls. Hit me up on Facebook and send pictures of what you are talking about.

I actually got it man just had to widen the thread a tad, are you still running yours? I’m a little bit nervous by how much lighter in weight they are than the Harley ones but Ima pretty small guy lol

@@bofasho3597 I traded mine a few years ago but I never had any issues with it!

Where did you order them from?

MTmotoRIDER it looks like i ordered from your link under the video NOT the updated one in the comments... mine have the skulls on the footpegs

MTmotoRIDER the brake side is about 2” too long and i snapped the tiny screw coming thur the eyelet. any way to replace that part at a hardware store? or would amazon take the return on that?? thanks again for the responses
@ncmotorider4 жыл бұрын
King Premo I’m sorry you are having so many issues. I would think you could get a new screw from a hardware store. The exact kit I have on my Sportster did not come from amazon. I’m not sure if you could return the kit or not.
@kingpremo23414 жыл бұрын
MTmotoRIDER there is an amazon link under the info of video, my mistake for clicking on that, i knew something was off by the hardware color. iam gonna put in a return and try the raiders ones you have! thanks again ! i just wanna get out and ridddde!

Thanks for the video! Without it I would have gave up after openening the package since the explanation in it was very thin:-) Did you use any kind of loctite for the screws that connect the whole control unit with the Harley? It is my first Harley and I heard it is recommended to use due to the Vibrations?? Ride save Bro✌
@ncmotorider5 жыл бұрын
Of course you do not have to but it is ALWAYS GOOD to use loctite. I used it on everything!
@mikichicago12005 жыл бұрын
@@ncmotorider Thx! One last thing: On the shift side there is a metal plate where the 2 screws come into the frame. Did you take the plate of or did you put the screws through, so that the plate is now between the bikes frame and the control unit? Iam not sure wether it is good for a stable Mount of the control to leave it in between... Greetz Miki

Thanks for the video I was lost why don't they come with instructions crazy
Just got this exact kit in today and everything works except for the brake linkage, its at least an inch and half, if not the full 2 inches too long, also the "washers" for the pegs are horrendous and the pegs just wobble around freely. Shit kit imo

The audio was recorded through the GoPro, which is an older one in this video so that is why it doesn’t sound that good. I should have hooked a mic up to it.
