To help hold the top burner orifices in the socket or nut driver use a small piece of paper towel so you don't drop it into the range.

Is it require a LP apliance convert to natural gas ? Or how we can find out the apliance is set for LP or NG.
@appliancepartspros9 жыл бұрын
+Warren You can check your users guide to see how the appliance came. Most come set up for NG and need to be converted to LP.

what if it's an old stove with no conversion kit? Do we need orifices? Are there generic orifices? We have a hotpoint AH222235R
@appliancepartspros9 жыл бұрын
+s wilson I am not sure that is a model number. You can double check it and give us a call, if it is not too old we can try and look it up: 1-877-477-7278. You can also post the problem along with the appliance model number on our repair forum and the techs can help you troubleshoot the problem.

do these orifices ever get clogged? It seems like my burners are not getting enough propane ..the flame is weaker than normal. I had my regulator checked and it was fine.
@appliancepartspros9 жыл бұрын
+ecurb's You could pull them out and make sure they are clean.
@jcarrolljr30525 жыл бұрын
Was the regulator reversed? You could try cleaning orifices with automotive clorinated brake cleaner. NEVER anything flammable

Will this work on a GE freestanding gas range?
@appliancepartspros9 жыл бұрын
Tanonglang This is actually for a Frigidaire stove, the principle would be the same on a GE range but the process would be different. So the video will give you an idea on how it is done but your stove is different.

how can you tell what orifice you need if the cover does not have the number on it like the one you have?
@appliancepartspros9 жыл бұрын
+Brian Palmer At 4:27 in the video it shows another chart. If you look at your NG orifice it should have a number punched into it. You can also look at your user manual, sometimes they will show the burner BTU's

This has me nervous and confused, because I went through a Kenmore's version of this yesterday, after finding that the NG oven/range (790.72402014) had come with a packet of four orifices and instructions to convert to LP, all in a plastic envelope stuck to the back of the oven. I'd thought I was done with that process, and got here while looking for propane connector options, but decided to QC my work vs. the video. 1) there's no mention in my instructions of the need to determine the difference between the provided orifices, though I recall one having a color-code on it - I simply assumed they were all the same diameter. Now, looking back at the instructions, there's a breakdown of parts provided in different kit numbers (showing mine and five other kits), and it indicates mine came with three different color-codes - but again, nowhere is there mention of ID-ing them or determining which would go where. Is this always important, and Kenmore's instructions are...crap, as I now suspect? Or maybe it really doesn't matter for some models? 2) similarly, instructions call for both burner spuds to be wrenched down "until snug," but they say nothing of turning them back (unscrewing again), as I think this video does (hard to understand but I think it says to turn them back 1-1/2 turns - though that would be more than my oven burner had been 'unscrewed' already, so it would end up out PAST where it had been for NG.) 3) as I mentioned, I got here looking for the Rest of the Story, eg what adapter/s are available to connect a standard 5-lb tank to fit the old NG line fitting...I'd think that would be part of any instructions for this process, eg a two-tank manifold so I can try to ensure we don't run out unexpectedly... Got any clarifications etc to help me out?

YES! It is very important to install the proper orivice in each burner as larger size burners require larger orifices to make bigger flames and more heat
@jcarrolljr30525 жыл бұрын
Screw down oven flame adjuster clockwise until it seat and the unsrew up 1 1/2 turns for LP. Make minor adjustments to get highest blue flame without (or very little) yellow flame. Yellow flames produce dangerous carbon monoxide

What happens is the orifices in the stove top are not changed after LP conversion?
@appliancepartspros7 жыл бұрын
Holes in the orifices are different sizes for each type of gas. If you have the wrong size ones the burner will not work properly.

Hello, I have a frigidare 79078812406 which is converted to LP, now I need to change back to natural gas. I plan on doing the opposite of this video and install the gas orifices. I believe I should reverse the orifice in the regulator, only question is about the broiler adjustment. Can you make a suggestion?
@larrynolan20839 жыл бұрын
There is no mention of the vent setting above the spud.
@appliancepartspros9 жыл бұрын
Larry Nolan The instructions cover all the vent adjustments, we did not have gas on this appliance so we could not show it.

its the same process for a GE range ?

+Sandra Cotton The conversion maybe similar to this video but different brands always have different instructions. You can go to our website and enter your appliance model number to view the parts breakdowns to see what is required to convert your model.

Never buy this range because they don't want to improve design of the burners. Centre portion of the burner do not cook properly. Even after many years if they can't improve the design who will buy this junk? The powder coated grilles always spoiled after few years and it hurts your hands while cleaning. So poor design by reputed company.
