Love the reminder info stated. What about knowing which files in Library are related to specific applications? What would be an easy way to know which files to delete when fully uninstalling an app? Or when an app is updated under a different name (e.g. Video Converter/UniConverter)? Should the user go by date created?

Wow, thank you so much! I had installed MiKTeX, but uninstalled it as I found MacTeX to be superior to it. However, the MiKTeX console would mysteriously keep appearing on my Macintosh HD file and vanish... I guess it had something to do with its cache that I just cleared. Hope such videos keep coming!

i am trying to uninstall an application called whisky so i can reinstall it beacuse i messed up the files and it stopped working properly after going through this video and deleting all the files i could find and reinstalling the app it still is not working right any advice on what to do (ik you dont recommend using 3rd party but is there anyone youd recommend using to try adn fix my problom?) It's a bit disappointing that Apple doesn't provide an easy way to do this without manually going into ~/Library and deleting everything :/ But thank you for making such a good and detailed video

As far as I understand, he said: save everything yout want to keep to an external harddrive and format your mac.

tl;dr you need to manually go into your ~/Library/ directory and manually delete all of the files related to the app you want to delete

That's actually the same as dragging an app to the trash on Mac - easier on Mac in my opinion. If you want to completely uninstall on Windows you also need to edit registry files, clear support files and / or use third party software. I enjoy using both systems, try not to get into the "Mac v. Windows" battle but also want to make sure my viewers are properly informed. If I see enough viewers asking for it, maybe I will publish a tutorial on fully uninstalling for Windows as well and I can show you what I mean. Anyway, hope you found it helpful.
