Dating is hell. There are too many options with all the dating apps and the current technological advancements. Ghosting is 100% guaranteed. There are land mines EVERYWHERE! We become overly picky and superficial and then factor in when the honeymoon phase bubble pops….and the cycle repeats. These issues are amplified tenfold in the gay community (I happen to be gay). I also forgot to mention non-monogamy and the rampant bread-crumbing and collecting of potential backups (ugh). I’m completely jaded and feel much safer (and more SANE) SINGLE. I’ve redirected that focus/energy on myself for personal growth and hope to become the best and most elevated version. As you can tell, I’ve been through it. When something special comes along, cherish it because that only happens once or twice in one’s lifetime.

J NC, there is nothing wrong with being single if your experience has been horrific. I think it's wise to take a time out or even create a life choice that works for you where you are your own partner. Single by choice is a huge category that is evolving because people such as yourself have just become so fed up and tired with the nonsense, that they fall in love with their own lives.

To me it feels like a job interview more than a normal conversation or being on the same emotional level. Like you’re trying not to slip up or say the wrong thing cuz just like job interviews, you’re probably not the only one going for it and there’s more than likely someone better than you so at a certain point your could be explaining why they dont want you without knowing it

Also, it’s important to remember that if someone chooses to walk away from a relationship it’s really on them! If they’re unwilling to work things out, talk things through and meet in the middle somewhere it’s really a reflection of them! I’m tired of feeling bad over people who exist in a paradigm of throwing things (and people) away! The people that truly care for you will stay!!

Dear Susan, This is exactly what I needed to hear today! Thank You! I have been working on becoming the best version of myself. I can only do this during my solitude when I have time to think and self reflect. You are so right! Twin Flames relationship often doesn’t work out. I believe my twin has left me for good this time. He has packed all his clothes and poof, gone. This is okay. I have learned to better communicate my needs and set healthy boundaries for myself. I need peace, freedom and contentment. I need my partner to accept me for who I am. I am now fearless because I’ve been afraid. Thank you again Susan for being the BEST relationship coach out there. You have no idea how many millions of people you have saved them from mental suffering with the modern life dating.

Hmm🤔Maybe I’m missing something but I completely disagree. I’ve always thought you gain confidence by achieving goals etc but that self esteem is much deeper and harder to rock, no matter your external world. To me a healthy self esteem is knowing you’re alright - even without degrees etc. It’s accepting that you make mistakes, not comparing yourself to others, treating your body well, setting boundaries to name some. To me that’s self esteem because it’s not dependent on “doing” and if it is then it’s about doing inner work - not reaching outside yourself to feel good. That’s just what I’ve always believed😊
@sarahillingworth9257 Жыл бұрын
I agree, the things you've mentioned are paramount to self esteem but going through challenging times and overcoming them also supports self esteem like you know you can cope with difficult situations.
