I might have recommended that you had put in a cleaning oil additive so that everything that the oil passes through would have been cleaned before you had added new oil. Then you should change the oil before it turns black

Thanks for the warning for the ring trim on the bucket with the cracked bottom 😂😂. Another heads up for any 6.4 owners when changing oil this way put your bucket in one of those shallow oil catch pans the round ones I got an extra 3 liters from the fuel bypassing the rings of the 7 and 8 cylinders during regen. This is a catistrofic failure in this model. Fuel in the crankcase will severely lessen the longevity of the engine and many other parts like turbos and the valve rack etc. This is why I did a complete DPF EGR delete of the failed government emissions science project. I increased milage by 1/3 that in its self with the emissions saving during regen is an ample emissions improvement I am now running a catch can with 1"ports in and out with a 3/8" drain ball cock. Making sure not to kink the line going into the can or out. PS I made a baffle in side the can. Makeing huge improvement on cold starts and I'm sure my injectors will be cleaner and the burn will be improved as well. PS I lowerd the the factory setting of the low boost fuel at the tuner from 3 to 2 out of 5. Showing huge improvement of the black smoke on liftoff in stop and go traffic

I run Amsoil in my 2018 Ford 6.7. I asked my Amsoil rep about the Archoil friction modifier for the 6.7 PSD. He said it it is a great product but can cause issues with the DPF. I own two 6.0 Diesels and use the Friction modifier every oil change.

Good info I did notice that they don’t say much about using it on the 6.7 just on the 7.3, 6.0 and the 6.4??? Makes you wonder so maybe you are onto something?

I would check out the Amsoil oil change kit with their signature series oil and filter. You get a higher quality oil and filter for $177 with the preferred customer pricing. Add $10 for preferred customer trial membership if you aren’t a member. I’m willing to bet better results for less money.

I hear good things about Amsoil though I’ve never used the product. With the Archoil products I’ve seen the results first hand with my 05 6.0. It’s also endorsed by Jay Leno and Bill Hewitt from Powerstroke Specialties. You should check their videos. Sadly Bill just passed away in October.

@@cp-islander I watched Bill for a long time, he was a good guy. I tried Archoil in my 2006 6.0 for a while but couldn’t log a noticeable difference. Since then, I’ve been driving gas vehicles but the oil analysis for my Amsoil runs speak for themselves. Very low wear metals and the high TBN allows it to be stretched a long time

Try a punch hole on the bottom of the oil filter. It drains from the bottom, way less of a mess 👍

Just curious as to why your running that oil weight since ford says to run 10w30 and you can get rotella t6 in 10w30 now at walmart?

The main reason I use 5w40 is the wider temp range and it being severe duty oil. I mainly use my truck hauling a camper around so is usually under a load. In your manual it recommends both oils depending on your trucks use basically.

The best way to get a million miles is to fo a engine swap to a 6.0 or even 7.3. Youll never see 1M on a 6.7 without major rebuild.

My last truck was a bulletproofed 6.0 had no engine issues with 330,000km! This truck we’re at 80,000kms and counting! Thinking I’ll do a fuel pump upgrade at some point to help with its reliability.

There are a number of 6.7 powerstrokes on KZbin with over a million miles on original engine and transmission.
