Ah, I'm quiet and shy and like to be at home with my hobbies like gardening and looking after my pets. No wonder I'm always single.

These are great activities, especially after you're in a relationship. But what can you do that will get you out into some social situations? Maybe a dancing class or martial art?

A lady I know gave me this advice: go to the places you imagine your dream man would hangout. Seemed very astute.

Exactly. Go where you’d want him to be when he’s not home with you. That’s not the bar.

Thank you for addressing the female side. I bought your one for men just because I love your content (married lady with no need for it) and because I like to have resources like this close for my single grown children.

@@AttachmentAdam Suggesting that we use our community around us to let them to help us find a partner was the best dating advice I’ve ever heard. I’ve been suggested to date online or go out and meet people. That may work for some however I’m not a fan of doing either since I’m more introverted. The advice of using community also brought to my attention that I need to work on expanding my circle anyways. I really found it to be insightful for both areas of my life. 😊🙏 I really appreciate how accessible you have made your knowledge and experience. Thanks again Adam!

Hi Adam found your content recently and have been really enjoying it, i'm curious if you have a video on the same topic but for men?, I've been struggling mentally for a long time now with anxiety, depression and a lack of meaning/mission in my life and not to mention companionship i'm an older guy 28 but never dated or had a girlfriend due to my insecurities. Regardless I've been finding your videos very insightful and am seriously considering buying your book "slaying your fears". I know the first step is always the hardest but i'm tired of feeling like i'm living in my own created prison. It would be great to have more content creators such as yourself and please keep doing what your doing, the world needs people like you.

Its packed full of solutions and actionable steps. adamlanesmithbooks.gumroad.com/l/HTGAGF That being said I am going to also make a video in the near future on this subject for the channel. I will also link a video for you about finding meaning in life that you might enjoy, and find quite helpful. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnrJonqEftOJh68 I hope one of these options is suitable to your needs right now, and thank you for watching. Hope to keep bringing you value on the channel.

@@AttachmentAdam Yes for sure, watched a few of your videos about performance anxiety and Impostor syndrome so much of what you say in those videos has me down to a tee, fear of failing at my job and looking stupid, too afraid of choosing a new career because again I may fail. Over thinking social situations and thinking up pre planned responses in case a question gets asked in case once again I look stupid. It's all down to fear of failing so In the end I never end up trying which actually makes me fail completely in the first place. I decided to grab a copy of your book Slaying your fears i'm hoping to get it in the next week or so and am keen to give it a read. I hope to apply the information in it to my own situation so I can start living a more fulfilling life. I need to start making changes, I can't see myself living this way for the foreseeable future i'm tired of seeing my life on pause while everyone else moves forward. Thanks for checking up Adam, your a good man I appreciate it.

I have been returning to this video for a few times. I think the networking approach for dating is how we have evolved to do. It is most compatible with our biology. Tinder and online dating may be the quick solution, but they are bad solutions, our brain has probably not kept up with the technological advancements, so a lot of technology goes against our instincts and brings out the worst in people. I truly believe this video highlights the right way to go.
@AttachmentAdam
@AttachmentAdam 11 ай бұрын
Agreed, this is the natural way. That's exactly why I believe it's the best (and why research bears this out).

I think the best thing we could do to attract a right (or ideal) person is to truly become that kind of person ourselves at first. After that attracting is actually the easiest part, cause don't most people want to get the right person on their side? :) So the hardest one then is to find someone whom you would really enjoy to work together as one team. And I think activities are really one of the best things to figure that out. Those can be not only physical ones but also mental or intellectual too. And I also wanted to thank you, Adam, you're doing a wonderful work! It's always a pleasure to watch your kind and inspiring videos. Blessings to you and your family! :)

But if you meet someone through friends, might they be motivated to mask negative behaviour so as not to look bad to the mutual friend? I'd rather see someone's true colours. Knowing someone as a friend is different to knowing them as a romantic interest, they could be a good friend but a bad partner.
@AttachmentAdam

It should be difficult for someone to be completely fake in front of their long-term friends and associates. And if they are, the consequences go beyond just your relationship. And that still is far better odds than dating total strangers who can fake whatever they want without repercussions.

I’ve talked about this lots of times, and I’m not against it at all! We got married at 11 months, and just celebrated 15 years together and welcomed our 5th child, so fast courtships can work when you do them right! But you have to actually do them right.
