Probably the first video I watched to start my journey of getting my driving licence. That was around September 2022. Since then have passed the test September 2023 first try. One of the best videos for information for sure! :) Had to come back for the nostalgia!

I personally feel bad for anyone trying to get started on the road in this country,,,,things are just becoming harder and harder. 1: Rip off insurance 2:Rip off motor tax(unless you have a newer car) which will also cost a lot of money 3: Paying for loads of driving lessons,and the test fee. I started driving in 2004. Things were a lot easier back then if i remember. Basically,,"Rip off Ireland again and again."

Hi Ana, interesting video here. think that having a car in Ireland gives you a lot of independence...but it's a big cost of money...so if you feel that you are not going to use the car enough... I recommend to rent it when you want to use it. Regarding the licence. If you have an European driving card you can swap it to the Irish by paying something like 50€, and if you return to your country you have to redo the test back home. On the other hand be careful with cámaras of speed which in some areas are well hidden in the trees, which in Ireland the fees are hight not only for the money (around 80€) but for the points..3 points less of the card that after 3 years will go back. Having an European driving license they font take those points from your card... Only the economic fee.

Thank you :) depends what country you're coming from tbh. For me the healthcare system is poor as I am used to the fact that I could visit the doctor TODAY is I need to and get everything sorted quickly and for reasonable money. If you're coming from a country with a healthcare system similar to USA, then it will be good for you :)

Was this your first DL or did u already had one in Moldova? I have my German one since 6 years, could I just drive with that ? I would just probably take 3 or 4 classes just because driving in the left side . It's very smiling yo the system wr have here . But what I don't get is that they let you jnt he car as a learner fir 2 years and tahtm afterwards you attend driving school should be other way around (that's how we have it) because than they can show you everything at first :) . We only have the learner license for 17 years old (tou nee to drove with your parents) at 18 you automatically have your full license (you arten driving school with 16/17 you have 12 mandatory classes, if you nee more you can still book it it also costs 40-60 euros) of you pass the written and the driving test yoh get you license, the learner one if you are still 17 while you pass the test, the full one will be send to you as soon as you turn 18. Or you alredy get it when yoh are 18 and pass the test. But either way you have 2 years of "learning" when yoh are too fast or have a to high alcohol level you will lose the license . After these 2 years beeif way to fast is not such a problem anymore, it's takes 3 tickets over a certain speed to lose it and you are allowed dot uave 0.5 level alcohol in you blood . (Still wouldn't recommend it)

There's a separate licence and I think there's a different test if you just want to drive an automatic. If you get a normal license driving stick then you can also easily drive an automatic

Hi! It depends on which country. If you have an EU driving license, you can simply pay 50 euro and exchange it for an Irish driving license. If it's a non-EU driving license then you will have to go through the whole process but will only need to take 6 lessons instead of 12.
