I know that some stores in my area are hiring for when the lockdowns ease, so it may be that you apply now and don't start your job untill things are back to normal. However, i am aware that some stores are freezing employment completely so it really depends on where you live and what the stores in your area are doing!! All the very best of luck!!!!

Considering calling in to check on the status of the job. I just feel bad calling just to say who I am and if the job was filled. I just feel like they’re super busy and I wouldn’t want to bug them. Is calling in a week after you put in your application a good idea. Is it better if I do it in the morning so there not as busy?

I think that is a brilliant idea, it shows how keen you are and will put your mind at ease! Worst case scenario the position has gone and you can let them know and see that you are very interested in future roles! I think its a great idea one week after applying - and I'd call at around 10:30 - Gives the store time to open up and sort out stock and is before the lunch rush! All the best

Kate Glade ALL THE BEST OF LUCK, you will be AMAZING!!!! I’m terms of what to wear, I would recommend smart casual, so for my interview I wore a pair of black jeans and a nice-ish top with some nice shoes. As long as you look presentable that is the main thing!! Top tip would be to be happy and chatty, at the end of the day your job will be to be great with people, so show off that you have great interpersonal skills. Yes of course!! You can hand in your resume to that particular store to show you have a stronger interest! If that store is also closer to your home that is a great reason to ask on your application! However it is so easy to change stores you work in once you are employed, so you could always transfer! Good luck :)

I applied for the second time two days ago (they say you can apply 60 days after an application) and I had gone into the Starbucks in my town to talk to the shift supervisor that was in. They said they would mention me to their manager and I would be able to call the next day or so. I called in yesterday and because it was happy hour, the manager said she would call me either today or Monday. If she does or does not call, what are some ways that I can help ensure I at least get an interview? I really really am determined to get this job and I would really appreciate some help or tips. Hi! Well, to start with, i think it shows great passion and determination that you have applied twice and taken time to go into the store!! If the manager does not call on Monday, I would recommend calling on Tuesday at a time when you think the store will be quiet so that you can speak to the manager and ask about the job. Even doing this should show how keen you are and hopefully she may ask you in! If she does call, it may be that she asks some interview questions over the phone, so i would recommend brushing up on some Starbucks facts or looking up some potential questions she may ask. This may be over-preparing, but its better than being under-prepared!! Other than that, when she calls make sure that you are super enthusiastic and show how determined you are (Mention that you have applied twice and that you went into the store- I know that many people may be applying to this job so make sure she is reminded about what YOU have done!) Hi! I need major help! I applied last week, I had gotten no response so I called yesterday asking for the manager to see my application status, the manager wasn't there but I asked the shift supervisor to leave a note with my number and name. How long should I wait until I call again? I'm not sure if it's taking long rn because of COVID but I'm very eager to have this job.

I recommend calling on a monday morning for the manager, they are usually at the store all day long! That's what I did and I was able to speak to them

Hi!! Did the experience get cancelled due to covid? If so, I’m so sorry!! I would definitely keep it on for now, because it shows initiative and drive that you were able to get work experience!!! Once you do the experience/ do something else you can change it but for now I would put something along the lines of ‘summer 2020- work experience at (name of company) cancelled due to Covid-19. It will depend on the area and region you are working in!! Hours will also vary and can vary from shift to shift. I would recommend having a look online or asking in your local store!

HI!!! I think it will really depend on the store and how many staff they have to cover a Saturday!! In the store I worked in they had a student who only did 4 hours on one day a week, so it would definitely be worth going in and asking! all the best!!!

Personally, I would go to the interview and see what the vibe is like when you are speaking face to face with the staff/ manager. It may be that she was tired or stressed when you called, and that in reality the people are really nice there. If they aren't then you still will have the choice not to work there and you can apply elsewhere!

Update: I got the job!! the interview was only thirty minutes and they asked me several questions like "Tell me about yourself", "Why do you want to work at Starbucks?", "Give me an example of time that you experienced excellent customer service", "How would you provide excellent customer service?", and "Give me an example of time where you were in a team with members who had conflicting opinions on something." That was basically it! Be prepared for some three part questions, my interviewer read all three parts at once so you have to pay good attention and make sure you answer all three. Other than that just be yourself, they want to get a feel for your personality and asses wether or not you are truly a people-person capable of making quick connections and smooth small talk.
