Perhaps she is not as attractive as the victoria secret model, but if you take into account what she means to you, her humor personality, strength etc Even though she looks average might still be an 8 for you. Well if you work that out you can at some point work to get *your* 10 and you wouldn't even need to 'settle' whatever that means.

I was working away from home for months at a time, and when I came back and saw people I hadn’t seen in awhile it was completely different. A girl I used to work with and was friends with was now looking at me and talking to me differently; a girl who I considered out of my league was now sleeping with me. That’s not to say I didn’t make a lot of mistakes along the way as well, but you learn. That was almost 10 years ago now.

I was cursed with scoliosis in my teenage years which wreaked my spine and left me broke. I'm 48 now and single I struggled to attract anyone as a partner and you realize how important wealth and physical appearance actually is in real life. I had a good personality but nothing else and I fell short in relationships my condition is incurable it's something you just have to live with. Nothing I did caused the scoliosis it's just a cold hard reality of life people get struck down with nasty things. I agree with Tripp if you are able get in the gym and work hard,watch what you eat,dress well and educate yourself so you can get a good job the woman will follow.

Hey I dont often write but here is something. [1]. Its great to be doing this in highschool. Its like the perfect place to experiment and later in life look back: I was just a silly teen. So number one thing dont stress about it and try not to put on pressure. Try instead to enjoy your conversations. [2]. High school boys usually have a lot of hormones so it might be tough but try to keep your private parts and sex out of your mind at first and just focus on the here and now. What are she (& her friends) doing? Or maybe she is wearing something striking or you have a common test/goal whatever. You can start with that and go from there. There are great videos about how to make good conversation but I think it essentially boils down to: 1. Being observand 2. Listening well and hooking into what someone else says. 3. Remembering. Details about previous conversations (achievements, callback humor, birthdays) but also what subjects she enjoys or is passionate about. 4. Probably some other stuff ^^ [3]. Practise. Conversation is a skill and you can get better with every conversation you have. Make sire to reflect on previous conversations and where it went right/wrong. Talk to everyone. Not just the hotties. Your (guy) friends and even teachers will be good material to talk and connect with. Bescides getting better at talking you will also build social proof in your high school and because you are then known to talk to a lot of people girls will be less weirded out if you randomly strike up conversation. [4]. If at any point the conversation starts to get boring or something dont be afraid to say: 'hey it was nice talking to you' or something and just move on. In highschool you can have these really short nice conversations and then literally walk 10 feet to talk to some friend again. Finally maybe you can tell but I learned a lot from experimenting in highschool too. I tried a lot of stuff and everyone probably thought I was completely mad, but everybody also knew me and I had a very fun time in the final years. I hope some of these points can be of help.
