Over the years, I realized that you should not wait for motivation, it may not be there. Something must be done. I liked the words: a real master does not wait for motivation but works every day.

Volume mixing applies when you are mixing electronic music that typically is already using compressed samples. For acoustically recorded music unless you had equalization and compression on the way in I would not recommend starting with a volume mix. I prefer to do what I would have done had I owned the expensive recording equipment and that is to EQ and compress lightly. Then at that point I may do a brief volume mix setting faders and doing a little bit of overall automation. But yeah if you just do volume automation it can waste time if your tracks are not already sounding up to par. Which again if you're doing electronic music that may already be the case. This goes for vocals as well because between that, piano and a real bass guitar or synth they are typically some of the most volume dynamic tracks.

I did a quick calculation the other day and apparently I'm ahead of 97% of ALL artists on Spotify, not just other self-produced ones. Which would be encouraging if I wasn't still broke af 😅 great video regardless, thanks for sharing

Thank you for pointing out that shortcut crazyness. That's so distracting from the basics because everybody tries to find ways to avoid the work ;) 🌻
