Tried applying for the Reserve card after the “5/24 Rule is Dead” article, and unfortunately got denied. I check all the boxes as an applicant besides 5/24, so I’ll definitely be calling the reconsideration line with your tips! Thank you and wish me luck!

Good luck! I tried and they wouldn't redistribute. They said they look at that option on their own before issuing a denial. Boo! Sounded like it would work. lol

@@tamijoys Unfortunately I struck out again! I tried to redistribute also, wasn't enough to sway the 5/24 rule. Booo indeed. I wish I knew to get one of the Sapphires BEFORE I began my miles and points journey!

I am retired and am not sure what to list as my income when applying for credit cards. I pull from my investments as needed so my income is not fixed, as though I were taking a pension, annuity and/or Social Security. Make up a large number? Thoughts?
@MilesAndMayhem13 күн бұрын
5:12 Uhh, I know it's probably a bit late to fix it since you'd have to reupload but keeping the Green in this graphic is likely to confuse people since the Green is a charge card unlike the other 4 shown and then is not mentioned in the following section.

Can your income affect you getting approved for a credit card? What if the income is too low?

One of the first things they look at. DTI is a primary metric for the banks

@ what does DTI stand for?

@@shaenesbitt debt to income. If you have to many loans (mortgage, credit cards, auto loans, student loans, etc) and can’t support more payments then it could be a quick decline. They then use your credit score/history to judge whether they should issue it.

I applied for amex gold and put down annual income of 40k. At the time of applying for an amex gold, I had 37,800 of available credit (7.5k from both freedom flex and unlimited, 7.8k from saphire preferred, 15k from venture) plus another 20,000 on another card as an authorized user. I still got approved...

I’m at 7/24. How do I get the Hawaiian Airlines card before they merge to Alaska? I need it
@RinAsami113 күн бұрын
The 5/24 rule is only for Chase cards. The Hawaiian Airlines card is from Barclays so you can try to apply for it.
