Thanks, I’m practicing this everyday, and I’m getting quite flexible! Thanks a lot!! Also, I once broke my leg, and it was hard to do this. But once when I was just sitting on the floor with my sister (who’s a contortionist) watching contortion videos, and we both tried, and it really hurt. My sister didn’t feel anything. I felt tons of muscle pain. It took me a few days to reach my toes. I tried and all I felt was pain, pain, pain, pain. My sister started helping me by saying, eat healthy, drink water, and stuff like that. And I wanted to give up after like 6 days. Then one day (yesterday) I was sitting on my floor bored, then my sister walked in and said, “wanna practice contortion with me?” I told her sure, and I reached down to my toes, and I touched them! It hurt but I still did it. I practiced tons of times and I ended up doing it without pain. And then, I started practicing moved with my sister. And they were a little hard. But I still did it with some pain. Then I ran into this video, and it helped a lot. I got more flexible. And got stronger. I managed to get better at contortion. The most pain I had was the leg I broke. Now I do backbends, splits, and handstands. Thanks!!!!!

This is my story. When I was 7 years old I started watching KZbin videos about gymnastics and I really liked it so I started practicing and I started by doing cartwheels and then splits and I remember that I always use to love doing cartwheels I even saw a old video when I was in 1st grade that my older sister had and it was that I was doing a bunch of Cartwheels. And I remember the day when I learned how to do my splits I was so happy and I learned how to do the bridge but I wanted to learn how to do a back bend so I keep on trying and trying and I learned it I was happy and I that's all what I did then I wanted to learn more so I was starting to do handstand but I never did it without the couch because I was too scared that I will fall and go to a bridge so I had the couch but then I wanted to start to learn how to do it without the couch so I did but I was scared but I didn't care and just did it and I just did it for like a little second so yeah and then I wanted to learn how to do the handstand and then go to a bridge so I did that outside and I remember my first time that I did it I was holding the handstand a little too long so I went into a bridge and I was stuck cause I didn't knew how to kick over then so I hat to lay in the floor and get out of the bridge and I was so happy but then I forgot it so I keep on doing it and it went to summer to cold but it wasn't snowing so I still keep on practicing and I did it and I went inside and told my parents and I showed them and there were like don't hurt yourself but I never did and I knew how to do it and then I learned how to do the handstand to the bridge and then the kick over. And then time past and I wanted to hold my handstand for more time and the handstand was really hard for me but I still was practicing and I never wanted to give up and now rigth know I'm 10 years old and I can bearlly hold my handstand to 4 seconds but I'm never gonna give up and I'm here to tell you that never give up in your goal and it takes time just like me but I never give up.

Wow this video is full of awesome tips!! Thank you!!! I'm trying to do contortion, and this is really helping. Also, the secret code is: Happiness tip number one: studies show that just looking at your favorite color can spark feelings of joy, motivation, satisfaction and inner peace. ❤❤❤ I love it. Also, I have a short little story. When I was younger, I was in gymnastics. This was probably a few years ago. I had been going for about three years. Even though I never really made any big progress, that never really came to mind I guess. Anyways, in my third and last ( though I didn't know it WOULD be,) year, I found myself right on the edge of being able to do my backhand spring, right, left, and middle splits, cartwheel and handstand on beam, and big back hip circle. I didn't realize it then, but those were things that I had been practicing for over THREE years! However, that's when life took a turn. I don't remember super clearly, but I was with my older cousin. We were playing something, and he accidentally fell really hard on my right wrist 😢. I am pretty sure that I started crying and my mom came. She took me to the hospital for x rays, and they said it wasn't broken, well sorta. After the doctor looked at the x rays, we went into his office. There, he told us that the bone wasnt broken, but the growth plate was. In case you didn't know, the growth plate is what grows to keep your wrist moving with the rest of your body. Since mine broken for a couple months, ( I say months, but it felt like years) my wrist didn't grow. So even know, you can still see the size difference. Know you gotta remember, that during this time, I was still enrolled im gymnastics. By the time that my wrist was healed to a fair amount, I went back to gymnastics....well I tried anyway. It was the same class I was in before, and its not like they all went on hold for me. That meant that my first class back in was really awkward and embarrassing for me. I was unbelievably behind. I had lost all the progress I had made on thise tricks i almost had, the ones I told about earlier. After that class, I quit 🤦. I felt defeated and just flat out embarrassed. I knew that I would never catch up to the rest ic the girls. Now looking back, I have no clue why I decided to QUIT. I could have really used that now that I want to get into contortion. Basically, what I guess I'm trying to say that, even when its hard, you gotta keep going and give it your all. If you aren't willing to put all your effort in, than how bad do you really want it? Just never give up 😊🙂

Thank you for sharing your story! This is so inspiring 💗 Gymnastics can be tricky when you’re just getting back into the swing of it - work hard on developing your strength and flexibility outside of the gym. Since you learned a lot of these skills in the past, they’re still tucked away in your muscle memory - they’ll be easier learning the second time round 😊😊😊 Keep me posted on your progress!

@user-ft8sf4nl1j5 жыл бұрын
My story (if you care to listen): So I was a pretty active kid when I was young but I was never flexible. I joined Kung Fu after my wrist fully healed from the volleyball incident (I had to quit volleyball due to my wrist sprain and it took a long time to heal so I took up another sport instead of volleyball). So I joined and I was tested by doing a forward split and I barely could do it. My teacher was forceful but I had high pain tolerance so he was able to push me down further than I expected myself to go and I kept pushing myself further and further each time I practiced and I evenually got in within 2 weeks to 3 weeks. Now, I quit Kung Fu after doing it for 4 years straight and I lost some of my flexibility so I am planning to get it back soon! If you are patient enough, practice stretching 3 times a day (for me, I did it in the morning, at noon, and at night) and you'll eventually get it. Make sure you drink a lot of water, it helps! Also, look for more tricks on stretching on KZbin, that is how I got to become more flexible than I already am.

Haven't seen many improvements.. Even my mom can do the splits better than me! Its very stressful that I have been stretching since kindergarten and I am going to fifth grade not flexible AT ALL. I have been trying and trying but, and I WONT GIVE UP! Even though I'm loosing hope, I can still keep trying. And if you are having the same problem, DONT GIVE UP!!

I tried to do the tricks and I made my brother take a picture of me doing a trick to see how I looked. I put my mind to think that I looked so flexible and amazing but when I looked at the picture. I looked horrible. I then read an inspirational comment and then realized that you can do anything with just hard work, determination and most importantly patience. Yo just have to keep stretching and practicing sooner or later, you will definitely be able to do anything you want to do. I know that his comment is quite long but this ''tis just to share my thoughts and encourage you to NEVER GIVE UP! Have a great day. Blessings to all. Stay Safe

Wow you are really good! I thought I was very flexible due to having Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome but even I couldn't do some of those. I do find myself sleeping in a modified version of the butterfly wing + hug to chest pose at 5:00 only I'm normally laying face down on my leg and my other leg likes to curl around my butt.

EDS has different levels and severities - that means you may be more flexible in certain areas, but (surprisingly) lacking strength/stability in the opposite direction.
@tgrlilly2 жыл бұрын
How funny! That's how I like to lay down on my bed too. I also have EDS. I was always super flexible growing up but now I find I lost much of my flexibility and wanting to get it back! I was abnormally flexible everywhere except my back, that was my least flexible area.

Thanks! This really helped me! When I first watched your video though, it helped me the most. I was like, a complete contortionist. I had just gotten back from my trip to Florida and when I was there my sis helped me do a legs over head and I could do every split and so much more! Guys, always follow your dreams and you will never be lost, for a dream is something you can make. You can make it come true with hard work, perseverance and good attitude. Another long comment

Ok I know a lot of you are like this is hard or I'm never going to be flexible. But I thought that too. After like the second day of doing this I was starting to see a difference! I was so happy! And no I'm not saying this because I'm lying. I'm saying it because it's true. You guys can do this! I'm almost doing my splits! Just remember you can do it!

It takes time and hard work! Even if you don’t see it outright, you actually ARE conditioning your body and entraining the stretches into muscle memory. It gets easier with practice! The work is worth it! ❤️
@emilynolan34044 жыл бұрын
Hi! I have done this twice and I am get more and more flexible and it really works it’s 100% real I used to be like 0% flexible and now I am about 25% flexible and it only takes that much to do this and your almost there only need about 75% until you are there make sure you do this for about 2 weeks at least if u want to get ur dream flexibility ♡ ♡ About 1 yr ago I tried like 7 different vids but only 4 of them worked it was a lot of hard work but I kind of got there I gave up for about 6 mths I kept saying “I can never ever be like anna mcnulty or Sophie dossie. Nothing would make a big difference I don’t think cheer and dance is my strong suit” after I have done this stretches daily I got there (a little) but I will get there in 2 weeks or even less I luv seeing flexible people they make it do easy but it’s. So easy LIKE IF U AGREE
