Definitely pacing, jump back, step up sounds like a great way to monitor this

Pacing is something that I really need to improve. Thank you for sharing.

I think one of the issues for me is the flexibility. I usually do step down, step up. But on the step up I can't get my feet up far enough. So, I still end up doing an extra push with my arms to roll back on to my feet solidly before standing and jumping.

Yeah that's a common issue. Scaling the burpee is an option in this instance - even just not going all the way to the floor.

I'm 51. I feel like I pulled a lower back muscle on the left side when doing my burpees. They've always been nearly impossible for me since I started 5 months ago at my box. Ever heard of this? Maybe the farther you bring your toes to your hands the more lower back stress it creates or lower back flexibility it requires.

Pacing. What would be optimum sets, reps, day per week for burpees as part of my workout.

Any tips on plopping to the ground ? I tend to always do a negative. Idk y. lol. Also my elbows start flaring outwards on the down

Gonna change my pace and start doing the jump down/step up. The pooping dog, which I am, smokes my shoulders.

Thank you. It’s gotta be pacing for me.

Feet to hands definitely a good tip.

I save the quads a bit by instead of jumping the feet up, using the abs to pop up off the ground and letting the hip flexors squeeze the legs up to the hands like a pike. Def requires the mobility for it, though

Definition of burpee: Get to the floor. Find a way to get back up. Cry later 😂

I always do strict burpees and fast. Now I know why I feel exhausted after half a dozen burpees. 😅
