Early on I struggled playing blues guitar solos. In this video I will teach you how to get better at playing blues guitar solos with a simple concept. We will use the E minor pentatonic scale for structure. Using small phrases with space is the key to better blues guitar solos. Here is a link for this great backing track. • Blues in E (90bpm) : B...

Like a lot of people from my generation I learned the minor pentatonic and played with it for the next 271 years but very rarely sounded even remotely like Clapton, Rory Gallagher etc. Your lessons have been so helpful for this bedroom guitar player, knowing things like chord tones etc an eye opener Thanks a lot Rusty.

I haven't even picked up my guitar yet (6:15 a.m. in Maine), but I can see how incredibly helpful this is going to be Rusty. Thank so much for your dedication toward helping fellow guitarists learn and improve. These are awesome tips, even for those of us who don't know the scales inside and out, as you apparently do. I'm a copy-cat player and occasionally I manage to go through a pattern correctly. If I can nail these combinations down, I'll be a much better (sounding) guitarist. Thank God I have the drums to fall back on, cause I'm determined to be a musician in one way or another. It's my beloved addiction. Thanks again Rusty!

Rusty thank you for these lessons.I have been struggling with timing as far as when using say a 1/4 note rythym or whichever beat being used should you always stick to that for riffs in between.Going to start playing with drum tracks.Sometimes difficult for me to come up with grooves on my own .Thank you again for everything you do .Really appreciate you have a great week!

Good timing is important! But also a level of randomness creates great phrases also. I really have never counted any beats. I just tried to feel it. A lot of that comes from copying other players. Thanks so much for watching my videos and have a great week also👍

@@rustysguitar1 I have been practicing major scale and pentatonic riffs as well as chord tones.I find when I don’t try to get to technical it flows better .Just always think I have to start or end on root note but find when I don’t analyze my playing as much feels more natural. Thanks for the reply.
