I learn a lot from watching your vids, not only in gameplay but in attitude because often in the solo the people spams taunt, laughs and rages to the jg even when they solo die and you don't do any of that stuff from the get go. A different perspective from the solo, more calm, analitic and better

I think TheOtherFrost put it best; "The two most common things holding players back from improving are arrogance and ignorance." As you said, having the right mindset is critical to improving. Your mechanics should carry over a ton so understanding kits and interactions will be fine. What you should do is play a variety of roles and gods plus watch a variety of good players on Twitch or KZbin and learn from them. Constantly be looking at the map and where people are on the map. In time you’ll learn how to read it and position correctly most of the time.

I'm new to Smite, hope this guide will help me. Thanks for uploading it. One thing, though about copying pros - while it's true even a regular player can learn a lot from them, one must keep in mind that the game environment a pro is playing in is usually vastly different than what the 'average Joe' is playing in. A pro will play and build according to their skill level and meta, and I've seen that when a hobby player like me copies pro gameplay, it can backfire horribly. Not just talking about trying to pull off crazy mechanical stunts, but also builds and decisionmaking. A pro will anticipate the decisionmaking of similar top tier players, but regular players, especially in lower ranks, will be mostly unpredictable and random.

It's nice to have this mindset but there are times when I'll hard carry 30 kill games and I'm trying my absolute hardest and I say nothing in chat and I'll get reported by like 5 different people either because my team didn't like a specific thing I did or the enemy got mad I slapped them. This happens a lot actually, more often then not I'll just get the message I was reported when I've said literally nothing and played the best I can and performed better than anyone in the whole game. This video is obviously for people who are being toxic and want to improve but when other players are threatening your account you can't help but feel frustrated.

Here's a question about builds. I feel like I really struggle finding out what items really synergize with a god. One of my favorites is Ah Puch and I never getn close to the damage I see other players get with him. Do you have any tips on the best way to find items that work well?
@DudeImFonz
@DudeImFonz 4 жыл бұрын
Michael Rono it depends on what you mean. Do you feel like when you hit all your abilities they do less damage in that situation or at the end of the game you end up with less damage?
@KipVelcrono
@KipVelcrono 4 жыл бұрын
@@DudeImFonz moreso the actual damage being dealt. Using my example, I'll typically build enough cooldown to spam abilities giving me a good overall damage. I personally feel like the abilities I'm hitting aren't hitting as hard as they can. I always thought it might be an issue of not building enough pen, but I'm kinda stuck on what items are good for him.
@miltonvillalba5172
@miltonvillalba5172 4 жыл бұрын
Michael Rono Most mages are ability based some are just burst damage mages and some are dot mages, a few can do both like Ah Puch he can do both but most of his damage comes from this combo explosion so he’s considered a burst mage. Try building things on him that help to hit or for when you hit the combo on someone for example, I’ve found Shamans Ring is great on him, Gem of Isolation also helps to hit your full combo on people.if you wanted to do a little extra burst damage you could try building Ethereal Staff or Soul Reaver. The game splits gods into categories, Ability based and Auto/ basic attack based. Meaning you have to either hit abilities to do most of your damage or hit Basic attacks for most of your damage. For ability based gods try building things that help their abilities like cool down and Pen items.For basic attack gods try builds things like attack speed and power. I hope you understand and that this helps.

Yeah, well but what about people who feed the other team and clearly rely on being carried by someone else. So, therefore, you carry, die a lot, and then eventually lose. That is frustrating when you make your builds correct, stack basics, and get camps and or the giants before they do... So in my opinion, when people need blaming because they're not pulling THEIR weight the process of the battle that people call "chores" thenceforth that is completely obnoxious, AMAZING video, I myself did agree with 99% of the video except for one part. Great job! I will catch you in the battle maybe? :) -Olivia

@Aycauthon
@Aycauthon 4 жыл бұрын
This video was... not what I expected? It feels like one of those "get better at life" videos that start out by saying "never give up, always work your hardest, don't see defeat as a loss but as a learning experience" etc. You're talking a lot about not getting stuck in one role, not being toxic, not being afraid to learn from those who are better than you, trying out different builds, trying out different match ups, expanding your god pool, playing casual games instead of ranked, studying your gameplay by recording it and so on... but, those aren't really Smite tips. You're right when you say most of the tips can be applied for most games. This might very well be a mistake on my part, cause I clicked the video expecting something else. My recommendations have only just recently started showing your channel, so I didn't know what to expect. What I was hoping for was more akin to: - How do you counterbuild? If your opponent has X item, should you rush Y item? - When should you postpone using certain abilities? - Why do pro players often engage in a fight that looks like it would put them at a disadvantage, but somehow they always come out on top? What aren't I (the rookie player) seeing? - Which items are still being shown on the popular items lists despite being outdated, and what should you replace them with? My point is, you're obviously a pro player with a ton of experience. But the things you're saying is common knowledge for anyone who doesn't have an inflated ego. I'm well aware that I'm sub-par, I try to reflect on my mistakes instead of putting the blame on my team mates, and I go from Smite video to Smite video in the hopes of learning about these things. Regardless, I'll continue to browse your stuff, cause there's definitely a lot of improvement in your content compared to a lot of other similar channels.

I love these types of videos!! Keep it up Fineokay! Also I have to say that I am happy with the route you took with this video! I also have fun talking about smite 🤓 All the topics you discussed in this video were about character, mindset, and ego. Which in my opinion are always the first factors anyone should consider when playing an online game. I think that a game that is competitive by design (A game like Smite) often makes us forget that we are all different people! Different people with different temperaments, this suffices to say that we should respect our differences and learn to play with those differences not without, this is a TEAM BASED game after all. Like I said above, I love the direction you went with this part 1! Now I hope to see a more mechanical and strategical breakdown of smite in a Part 2 :D

Yeah I mean this is good for just proper gaming etiquette in general but it's not really how to get better at "Smite" specifically. Title is just a little misleading imo. I was expecting some more specific game oriented tips and strategies such as item buying order, counter building, when to retreat, how to navigate the map properly, when to push Fire Giant or Gold Fury, ability leveling order, etc. Now those things I listed take time to talk about but I'm sure there are a general set of guidelines for these things.

I feel like this is aimed towards kinda seasoned, experienced players who for a reason or the other can't climb the ladder. I started playing about a week ago, so most of this stuff is irrelevant for me now. while it still somewhat applies to me, there's so much i still need to understand. Could you please make a guide for beginners who wanna learn good habits of the game?

That will be part 2! Need to have a good mentality and plan before anything imo. Also for the most part, to get better at Smite or any role, you watch a lot of gameplay and guides. I have those all over my KZbin!

Most of the gods in the game can do well. If you want to play a specific god go for it.

Smart warding, securing the mid exp camps if you are the mid(jungler and support can help), look at the map, don't be too greedy, don't waste relics, communication with the support in both mid and adc.
