The Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program provides a significant opportunity for Public Housing Authorities (PHAs), Continuums of Care (CoCs), and Victim Service Providers (VSPs) to develop collaborative partnerships and strategies that effectively address the needs of vulnerable populations in their communities. Through EHV, HUD provided 70,000 housing choice vouchers to local PHAs in order to assist individuals and families who are homeless, at-risk of homelessness, fleeing, or attempting to flee, domestic issues or were recently homeless or have a high risk of housing instability.

0:55 I'm in Indiana now. Came from Tennessee because I've lived there all my life and I cannot get housing for myself and my child! So we took a chance and came to Indiana hoping that our luck will be better here! We are staying at a homeless shelter. But I apply for section 8 ( housing vouchers ) while I was still in Tennessee in July of last year! Also had a place call me last week that helped with housing. Had to do an intake or questionnaire on the phone called CE. Been dealing with this same crap since 2019. When we were evicted from subsidized housing, cause of crooked management!

You deal with 211 no help you live at a shelter sill living homeless 2 years live in Airbnb in a room. So them people don’t help the situation. HUD and housing in Minnesota won’t answer the phone

12:32pm 3/22/24 is you you mentioned three aspects to getting your emergency voucher I meet all three of those I've just never been in the system or anything else I live in something that's inhabitable and it's due to circumstances I used to work for a housing coalition and I know a little bit of how it works I've never applied for a housing voucher

I am disabled and have leukemia now also. My mother just died and i am in our house alone now and will not be able to afford it. I do not have a clue what to do really. There will not be any money from the sale of the house due to her debt and i cant afford the house alone :(

How do we get around those long waiting lists?? They actually sent my application back with a notice that said WAITING LIST CLOSED!! No longer accepting applications for housing and section 8 vouchers. I have two small children and that did not matter.

I've been.homeless for.4.years.in i.missed.enrollment for section 8 2022 when people got it 2023 I enrolled than now I've been in shelter for two years in I'm disabled but waiting list closed in im almost out time for shelter
