Currently attending college for information technology cyber security. Let me just say first I loved the video and it describes this field very well. I’ve been working help desk and technical support for 6years. I already knew what I’d was I wanted to do as a career in IT and it wasn’t what I did at my regular 9-5 IT positions. I am mostly self taught and I get. Lot of praise from employers upon speaking with me after seeing my resume. Cyber security and analyst is what my goal is after I finish college. Looking to work my way into the cia or nsa.

I think your wallet is a great place to store your passwords. A lot more secure that on any electronic device. In the extremely unlikely event that your wallet gets stolen, the thief will probably not know what to even do with them, or not be interested in them at all. You will also definitely be aware your wallet has been stolen and can change all your passwords. I don't see what the problem is.
@rfi-cryptolab42515 жыл бұрын
You can store your passwords in your wallet fairly securely. I'd add a couple dummy characters somewhere in the passwords though.

Thanks Keith for your advice, I'm curious why you decide to get certified in hypnosis? To make sure you can control and get things done? I'm also fighting with getting things done, even if I disconnect from Internet I don't feel I have studied enough, there is always that distract me like my dog, I was considering in meditation or yoga or going to gym, but I was curious for your reason of hypnosis, maybe I should try that. Thanks for your courses in cbt, I really like them, more than the good content, for the way you explained it. Thanks you very much.

Hello, I have no background in IT or Cyber Security, but I would like to begin a career towards that path. I was thinking maybe learning Microsoft System & Network Training is a good starting point. Any suggestions on where I can either learn or get certified in this area ? Thank you.
@TheRealGiraffe66 жыл бұрын
huria abdulhadi me personally I started off in college during work study. But I already had a lot of personal self taught knowledge before deciding a degree would be the best bet on furthering my knowledge. Learning coding helps, such as python, c+, SQL and other various languages as you progress. Learn to use command prompt, power shell. If you have time or really have a big interest in IT take the advantage of learning the parts of your pc and how they coincide with one another. IT has more than one path. It’s up to you to decide what is more desirable. My suggestion is to focus and work towards what you feel like you can see yourself doing as a career. Could be cyber security, database management, analyst, overall site support installing and imaging desktops/laptops. So it really all depends on what it is about IT that makes you want to get into it. If you have. Passion for IT in general, you open yourself to more possibilities and not just the one section of the career.

Hello there! I like all of your videos and based on what have you said, I comit that I am about to enter the Cybersecurity! I also have two questions for you which are : Is it necessary to have a diploma from a university to find a job in this field, or by doing only the CompTIA courses would be enough? What online websites do you recommend to get these courses done? Thank you for your time!

I am interested in getting my ISC^2 Associate Certification. However, I have a basic understanding of Information Technology. Would the CISSP be too advanced for me? What would you recommend (learning) for a budding security professional like myself?

I've been doing desktop support for about 17 yrs, and I've always had a bit of an itch to transition to IT Security or Network engineering. Desktop is a cool job, but I guess you can say that I have a hunger for a deeper level of IT

XiphosΩ is desktop support hard and does it pay? Im graduating with my associates in information tech. In December
@Ten06927 жыл бұрын
Na, it's not hard at all. It does challenges you to think abstractly sometimes though. The best way to learn it though is to get involved. Practice on how to put a PC together piece by piece, and learn how to install an OS manually. Most of your skills and technique will come from your experience level, but it's very easy to catch on quickly. As for troubleshooting, that's where it can get a little challenging. There are some things you will understand, and some things you don't. Never be afraid to say, "I don't know, but I can find out for you". Most issues with PCs can be found on the internet, and then you can apply the solution from there, and count it as experience gained for you to use in the future. As for the pay, it tends to vary depending on the industry you work for. Big companies usually start you at a decent amount, and some employers try to hire desktop techs for cheap. The key is finding the right place to sell yourself to. If you know that you are worth more than the employer is trying to buy you for, don't be afraid to look elsewhere, or try to negotiate within reason. Most companies don't realize how important you are, so they will try to buy you for cheap. Desktop Support in my opinion is a 'crossroads' career, because from there you can see what you want to branch into, because you have a good chance of being exposed to other IT fields. You can stay in it if you choose, and actually be quite successful.

Get internships. That’s literally the best way to get the experience you need. The only problem with internships though, is you almost always have to be a college student which sucks because most people can’t go to college or won’t for whatever reasons.

Could you do a video on how to construct your IT Security resume? How do I translate all of these tips and practices you've given into "3-5 year" experience on your resume so that you can at least get into the door? Past the job filters and recruiters that might not understand the potential in a self starter that's constantly working on something but doesn't officially have a security position that they can put on their resume.
@Fermion.7 жыл бұрын
It'd be hard to advise you without knowing more about your background, e.g. Do you have any certifications? What is your IT work history? What major projects have you accomplished? Etc. I'm not gonna sugar coat it, with no IT work experience, the chances that some company will give you a security job are virtually 0. Security isn't an entry-level type of discipline. You're going to have to present a proven track record of having the ability to administrate and troubleshoot devices, systems, and/or networks before a company will offer you a security position. If you don't have 3-5 years of admin/technician experience, I'd suggest working on that before even thinking about security.
@romebyoutubn7 жыл бұрын
Fermion thanks for your honest. These are the types of things that need to be addressed in videos such as this as well. How to turn nothing into something. These tips are great but can only take someone so far if they don't have a entry point into the position they really want
