Once I installed my FIRE CUBE I was fat, dumb and happy until streaming started to hang-up and buffer nearly every time I watched TV. Thanks to your video I found the ethernet adapter that originally came with the FIRE CUBE. Since I cannot run a ethernet cable to my CUBE I'm getting a WiFi booster so I can run the ethernet cable to the CUBE. My speeds are horrible. Sometimes an unbelievable 2.3 down and 4.2 up. Thanks to your video you got me looking in the right direction!

Just want to thank you for the video man.....I am paying for 200Mbps download speed.....with The Fire TV cube on wifi I get full 199Mbps....However, with the included Amazon ethernet adapter that speed dropped to 94Mbps wired connection. So I followed your advice, got the same OTG 90 degree adapter from your link for USB A 3.0 to Micro USB, and a gigabit Ethernet adapter USB 3.0 as you advise. The Amazon gigabit adapter from the link was out of stock at the time ,so I got a similar one by UGreen, just made sure it was 10/100/1000, gigabit, and USB 3.0 Well I am pleased to report this worked like charm....my wired ethernet speed went up to 199Mbps (from previously 94) Thanks for the video ....by the way the OTG micro USB adapter linked is perfect, it does not block the infrared and HDMI ports on the Cube because it goes 90 degrees in the other direction. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Hello Nartea Bay, the Amazon Basics Gigabit USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter works great, but the BSHTU ADAPTER Is the wrong adapter because it is a 90 degree adapter and when you install it on the Amazon Ethernet Adapter, it blocks the IR and HDMI cable. The right Adapter is the UNIDOPRO USB 3.0 OTG CABLE ADAPTER, MICRO USB//TYPE C CONVERTER. It is 180 degrees and does not block those cables. Just wanted to let you know, so that if your subscribers want to do this conversion they won't have to send back the adapter that doesn't fit right, still a great video. Thanks

So I tried your suggestion ordered from your list and it did not work do you have the actually specific specs on the OTG connector cause the same one you used the T style one from your hyperlink. I ordered but the micro usb connector did not fit correctly. got it to work finally the micro usb did not look right and I didnt want to break the pins in the cube. Thanks

Nartea Bay - Thanks for this but....you were not clear in your link to buy the 180 degree version of the OTG. The Amazon link you point to shows 90 and 180 degree options to buy. I bought the default one thinking your link automatically pointed to the correct OTG variant. It means I will have to return the item at great waste of time and expense as i am not in US and buy the correct one. I realise I was an idiot, and it is my fault, and not yours, for not checking carefully. But i also feel you could have been more idiot proof in your description and link. I did exactly as guided in this video using the same equipment that was recommended. I have 50' of CAT 6 ethernet cable from my router to my Fire TV Cube. However my Download speed only went from 92 MBPS to 105 MBPS, but my Upload speed went from 97 MBPS to 295 MBPS. How to you install the driver into the Amazon Fire TV Cube that came with the Ethernet Adapter? BTW, I'm paying for 500/500, and I typically get that at my desktop computer which is CAT 5 ethernet cable to the same router.

yes use enthernet for faster speeds..plug one end to modem and the end to the adapter you getting tommorrow.if you paying for 300 speeds you should get atleast 150 or so with the adapter

Hi Preston, I purchased the exact equipment you recommended (2 adapters) for my fire tv cube (3yr old). I have 1Gbps internet speed. Adapters didn’t work for some reason. Only getting 20mbps down and 30 up. I get 180 on Wi-Fi. I wanted to 300 that you showed in your video. I’ve restarted my system and doesn’t help. Any other suggestions? Plz help

Glad it works for you though, maybe Amazon did something to make those adaptors not work, idk.

Like I said, I tried with 2 different ethernet adapters(Amazon & Ugreen) and 5 different OTG cables and even resetting everything. I know the adaptors work because I connected them to my Razer 15 laptop and was getting 800 MBs.

Just tried this with the items you suggested. Did not work, actually got 10mbs less then using the adapter that came with the cube. I was getting 80 to 90mbs with Cube adapter and got 70 to 80mbs with this setup and I have 200mbs internet. I’ve come to realize the Fire Cube and any new Amazon Fire device made is garbage. The Cube will not play 4K. Anything made by Amazon after the 2nd Gen Amazon Fire box has been nothing but garbage.

@@NarteaBay I just had our ISP tech out a couple of days ago. I'm getting over 300 Mbps at the modem. The lights coming out of the Ethernet cables are orange. He seemed to think the problem was at the cube and that's why I was so excited to find this video. I purchased this set up and connected last night. I only got 85 Mbps and was very disappointed. The odd part is that I get 325 Mbps using Wi-Fi on the cube using my router. I haven't tried connecting the Ethernet cable to the router instead of the modem. I'm determined to get more via Ethernet vs Wi-Fi.

You know what the blue port is for lol. They when they saw you coming they saw sucker . The flu USB port is when you are using USB C on an phone or tablet . Or if you ever using that on a quest it has a USB c port. Thing that sucks about the fire TV cube it's USB and it's USB 2.0. you're not going to get USB 3 of a USB b port now way in hell. All you might get is maybe four hundred megabytes per second out . So if you have 500 megabytes down you might get four hundred of it
