How to Get Into a Perfect Impact Position with this Golf Swing Checklist

Everything you have done previously in your golf swing has led you to this moment, the golf impact position, where the club finally makes contact with the golf ball. Mistakes here can send your ball in all sorts of directions, from a left-to-right slice to a right-to-left hook and everything in between.
In this video you will learn how the address position is not the same as the impact position. You will also learn to avoid the various impact position mistakes and golf swing errors. Follow these golf tips to master your impact position for better golf shots.
Contrary to a popular golf belief, your aim is not to find yourself in the same position at impact as you were at address. Your position at address during your setup is a static position whereas your position at impact is very dynamic. Here are the differences between your impact position and the setup and address position:
At impact, your hands and the grip of the club are further down towards the target, well ahead of the ball.
Your belt buckle is turned and wants to aim at the target (rather than facing straight down). Your chest is still aiming down towards the ball but your hips are more open towards the target.
Your lead leg (left leg) is straight, i.e., if you are able to and are not suffering from a knee injury or condition that does not allow it.
Your trail foot (right foot) - at the heel - should start to lift from the ground
You should try to avoid the following impact position mistakes:
Keeping your weight too far back on the right foot. Your weight should have moved towards your front foot at impact.
Lifting your head and chest at impact. Rather, keep your head and chest down looking at the ball.
Bending arms at impact instead of keeping your arms straight through impact.
Knees collapsing through impact. Again, if you can, try to straighten your left leg for more power and greater shot distance.

I really appreciate the fact that you take a second to recognize that not everyone will be able to perform this move perfectly. There are a wide variety of physical limitations that people play golf with, and I am one of them. I am 51, physically fit and strong, but have had over 30 surgeries to my right leg and have a knee replacement. I just recently took video of myself hitting shots into a net and for me, they were about as good as I can hit. BUT, I did notice that at impact, I look very much the same way I do at address and I am now undertaking time and practice to see what I can do about it. I'm so glad I found this video and I am really excited about the potential this might have for my game. This video was very nicely done, easy to follow and understand and not overly long! Great job!

I paid a highly recommended golf instructor quite a bit of money to teach me how to properly hit with an iron. Your videos are much easier to follow as you break the process down into manageable steps with easy to follow drills.

Dear Peter, One question, when the club at the top swing, start down swing, two hand grip the club tightly or only right hand grip tighly and left hand lose for down swing. Hope you can answere it, i am confusing.
