Hi Devyn, Since it was kind of a recent topic for you, when would you recommend starting to look for grad schools? I‘m currently a second year Bachelors student at a Dutch conservatory (we finish the year in a few weeks) and I feel like I should start investigating about where I wanna go already but at the same time I feel like two years till graduation are still quite a lot of time and thus there is no need to hurry. How did you approach this?

Hi Thore, great question! It's never too early to start thinking about this. I think what's important is that you have an end goal in mind. For example, I found that I would like to study in Europe and focus on orchestral training specifically. Once you have a goal in mind you can find schools that fit the description of what you want to do. I'd recommend that you have a list of schools you're interested in applying to about a year before the audition dates. This will give you ample time to find audition repertoire and potentially get lessons with the teachers, or participate in masterclasses. Hope this helps and good luck! PS. I was just in The Netherlands, it's beautiful!

@@DevynFlute Sorry for the late reply! I appreciate your reply! So basically it’s not different from the research for the bachelors degree I suppose. I also already picked my favourite schools, so I basically only have to contact the teachers for a meeting/trial lesson😁
