As Han Solo said, " So that's the real trick, isn't it...." If he erased the partitions, not doing an upgrade , so there is no Vaio software or drivers at all. It's basically a Win10 laptop. Trying to install VaioCare or any tool that you think would install Vaio drivers, says ," This is not a Vaio computer." Really dumb as who knows what it looks for? There should be something in the bios that says it is a Vaio computer, but that's not what is happening... maybe looking for an old Vaio framework driver ( which is no longer installed.)

Can anyone help me, I have a old Sony Vaio VGN-AR290G and I'm stuck on the Vaio logo after that i just get a black screen with a blinking underscore in the top left. almost looks like command prompt but its not. I try F8 and cant get to the BOOT menu. I only can get to the BIOS screen with F2. Please can anyone help me?

Go to Sony's driver website put in your serial number or model number to find your laptop and then download the latest BIOS update and make sure you download the correct one for your laptop
