My life quality has skyrocketed since I started treating my insomnia with medical cannabis. I used to lay in bed for 2-3h before falling asleep, now I just lay down and fall asleep. I believe medical cannabis to be much better for me than something like benzos which are extremely addictive, especially since I only vape.

My flower is supplied by GrowPharma and I usually get SG but switched to hellfire this time. Will be changing back to the SG I think. I also get French Cookies for morning and Herijuana for bedtime. My only issue with prescription cannabis really is it is too dry (as to prevent mould) it's not vacuum packed to death either which is nice. Irradiation is common I food industry to kill pathogens and bacteria etc, its not harmful to us. However I do think it does break down some of the turpenes and effectiveness of the thc compared to a more traditional cure, rather than "drying".

I'm in my 40s and I have a number of conditions, with symptoms of pain, muscle spasms, GI issues, inflammation and to top it off, I'm hyperactive. I used cannabis back in the 90s and early 00s to manage it but stopped as street stuff got silly. I was then put on opiates, then more opiates... Then more! Then they stopped working and I'm now in the process of withdrawing and wanting to go on cannabis as I'm fed up with pharmaceutical options that actually made me much more ill! The local hospital will support my decision, help me off daily opiates, but not help with getting onto cannabis... I'm sure I'm not alone here! The UK is woefully behind the US in this regard. Here in Michigan I received a prescription for medical marijuana for my migraines ten years ago. No examination nothing, it was ridiculous. Now recreational weed is legal but the dispensaries carry a recreational menu and a medical menu and the medical menu is always more expensive.

The problem is your mental health team isn't wrong. You'd likely benefit from legal bud but the stuff you get from the dude down the road is probably loaded with THC. That's the problem, THC is the part that can cause mental health deteriorating effects when heavily imbalanced. Good luck getting prescribed cannabis! They are OK BUT be prepared to have to try a load of different strains before you find one that you like,they are all irradiated so have little smell and next to zero taste ,also when your script is out of stock you will be sent an alternative that you have no control over,if you get a load of trim they won't replace it,if you don't like what they prescribe your stuck with it. Should be legally available at 18 years old, if the government don't want young people under 21 smoking green or drinking alcohol then they should raise the military age to 21 as well. If young peoples minds don't stop developing until the age of 21 then they should stop enlisting 16 year olds in the military, if someone under 21 is incapable of making decisions regarding alcohol and cannabis then they should not be legally allowed to enlist anyone under 21 years old. But of course we only hear this "young minds aren't fully developed until 21" talk when the government is trying to raise the legel drinking age, never in response to the fact that not only does our military enlist young people under 21, they in fact enlist much younger in comparison to other western nations. Keep the legal age regarding alcohol and cannabis use at 18 and unless they intend to raise the military and voting age, don't accept their hypocrisy.

@@Dj.Ray.Von. imo there is no “medical weed”. They’ve just slapped a name on it. Yes it is grown with great control but that’s not to say the bud is any better. Every single bit of med bud I’ve had has been worse than what I’ve got from the street. I only stuck with a clinic because of the legal benefits. Unfortunately not everyone can afford a private prescription so I’ve resorted to relying (and not yet using) the cancard for legal backup. I’ve been with the cannabis clinic & sapphire medical clinic, both of them have had rubbish bud. I looked into cantourage clinic (they offered non irradiated at the time of looking) but didn’t go ahead due to financials. Bottom line is do what you’re comfortable with but my experience with “medical bud” hasn’t been great, especially for the price.

I got mine through Integro for a back injury, inquired on 21st march, had video call on 25th and was holding 10g of strawberry glue and 10g of french cookies by 29th, flower was packaged over a year ago and was dead tbh but still just about does the job, have tried some of the pricier flower and it is nice, the ghost train haze and miracle valley MAC are pretty fire if you wanna pay 345 a Z also because I was on universal credit i qualified for the GAP program and got a free consultation, first script free, £1 off the cost of the GROW range of flower, and £10 repeat scripts :) so all i paid was 140 for 20g of flower. having a pot with your script on the side is worth its weight in gold when you can pull it out to shut down anyone who haa a problem with you medicating in public :O

Yep looked at the sites last night ALL more than double the price of what you can buy it for on the street, per ounce. Also including you have to pay consultation fees which are around £200 to £300 per consultation. Basically these are government approved PRIVATE clinics 'weed sellers' but selling at double+ the price of street sellers. This is why you will only get cannabis prescribed from your own doctor for mainly palliative care (end of life).

I get my bits (certain strain) at £5.71g, listed there it's £11 something a g. I looked, as this video peaked my interest as I would like to stop or lower my partaking (smoking it wise) and just treat my pain. Also, and more for, my sister, who has suffered with trigeminal neuralgia for many years. As to why I am looking at the site again now. Mamedica as a clinic is the only one that is for people on benefits including veterans, so is only £200 for the first year (consultations, prescriptions etc) plus buying of the weed. So it is, including the £200 a year, more than the 5 pound a gram, listed on the medbud site. That is the cheapest per year cost, not including buying of the bud, after that it climbs steadily hitting £3.388 for the year JUST for the doctor consultations and repeat prescriptions. So yes, just about comparable to the street if you take off the yearly costs but overpriced if not. On some weed ranges. If I buy a Q street it's £50, If I buy a Half its £80. Full it's from £140-150, that's from any street. 22-25% Th, proper dank. So yeah duh! it always has gone down in price if you buy more. This is still an extortionate price for bud, as street sellers price bud, along with the risk they are taking for selling it 'illegally'. These clinics have NO such reason to price it comparable to the street, they are NOT taking a risk. The cost to a grower is about £25 an oz, sometimes less, sometimes more @75 an oz that is 3x the amount they are making back, street doubles that for the risk, Clinics are doing it legal so no risk, but use street prices. This is government 'done' btw, so should be grown here, this is why I am guessing it is priced more, as they buy it in from international growers. This is still good news for people like my sister that has an incurable health problem as they will be monitored by a physician and hopefully would get her off the prescription meds she's on. Mate, it's hard to hear your sister talk of suicide, she can at least have a decent sleep on weed. A good nights sleep means she has energy for going outside of her house for at least 1 day. P.S. So my question is, if I was to pay all the initial fees an got through all the consultations have all the medical proof of my Fibromyalgia an that I have PTSD an everything. Your GP has absolutely fuck all to do with your cannabis prescription. It's private. You pay for the doctor. The weed can be overly DRY which isn't good for smoking in a vape which is the preferred method suggested by the doctors. The weed is RARELY/NEVER mouldy, maybe it was in 2018/19/20 when companies were just starting out after the legalisation. It's no longer a new thing. Some of these companies have been doing it for 5 years. The weed starts out at £5 a g so even with consultation costs at 50 every 3 months it is STILL cheaper and better quality than what you get on the street. The cannabinoid levels are better. The genetics are better. It's grown better. Most of its cheaper. In the long run it's a far better way + for every legal prescription in the UK it forces the UK government to rethink the strategy of cannabis medications and legality.

You need a qualifying condition that you've tried 2 prescribed treatments for from your usual GP. So, for chronic pain, if you've been prescribed 2 different painkillers by your normal GP, then you probably qualify, assuming you don't have any contraindications.

@@andresmcjr nah m8 I don't care what people say I love Stardawg and Purple Stardawg it's something we get a lot where I'm from, probably because its a very easy auto to grow and you can have a harvest between 8 and 9 weeks I mean it's not as fast as say Sticky Beast Automatic or La Diva, those strains take between 7 and 8 weeks and 6 to 7 weeks for the La Diva. That's cool. All said and done I love all weed as long as it gets me where I want to be, I am pretty big on Indica strains but I like Sativa too, Sativa dominant or Indica dominant or mixed strains it really don't matter to me. I enjoy a good body stone but I enjoy a mind stone also it just depends what's on the market tbh I'm a buyer and not a cultivator.

​@@Dj.Ray.Von. sure; financially I don't think it's worth it. Although some strains are £5 per gram, they are of questionable quality. Some strains are as high as £15 a gram and even then, they are about as good as the mids I typically buy from the black market. On top of that, you have clinic fees, you need to have appointments every three months which you pay for, you might need to pay delivery fees too. Some clinics even charge you a repeat prescription fee in the months where you don't have an appointment. It can take two weeks or more from having an appointment to having the medication land at your door, and some of the quality is terrible. I've been buying black market weed for around 20 years and have only been sold mouldy bud twice, and never seen bud with bugs in it even when buying proper bushy Albanian mafia style flower, however working for the pharmacy I saw countless complaints, with photo evidence, of mouldy flower and flower with bugs in. The whole thing felt very profit driven, not patient friendly and extremely overpriced. I just don't think it's currently worth the price or hassle. I could go into more detail and will update this post with a long rant that I wrote a while ago but I can't do it now as I'm on my phone and don't have access to it.

Getting a medical cannabis permit in the UK does effect in any way the driving license or the cost of the car insurance or careerwise in any way??

I have multiple severe medical conditions but I am not going to a private clinic or Harley Street doctor to get bud. Once my GP finds out he will tell DVLA to take away my driving licence and also may stop prescribing some of the pharmaceuticals I need. When the NHS really start prescribing it I will join in.

@@user-gk1kn5hs5r I have a friend who lost his licence after telling his GP he had an alcohol problem. The GMC says doctors have a duty to report anything which would make driving dangerous or illegal.

@@bernmahan1162 alcohol has 0 medicinal benefits, cannabis under prescription is the same as any other prescription therefore you can drive as long as it doesn’t impair you

True your Gp could inform DVLA, of a change in your medication. But it would be for them to decide if it warranted removal of your license. The key point would be "if" you were driving while impaired. No different to many other medical prescription medications. As for removing you from other medications, that should be a non issue. The private Doctor would/should have already ascertained if there is a potential of issues with existing medications. Disclaimer I am not a Doctor or lawyer, just a patient.
