How to get missing IKEA Parts for free!

All very well but mightily frustrating when it’s an integral part of the build which happens to be a child’s bed and the part is missing doesn’t arrive for 10 days so no mate, IKEA don’t make it simple

Thanks for your thoughts. I have to say it is very rare for me that I'm actually missing a component. In about 20 years of building Ikea furniture, this was the first time it had happened to me. They're certainly better than MFI used to be.

Thanks for the video! Great help. But worth noting not all item numbers are listed in the spare part db. And sometimes one article number has multiple parts only some are missing. for those, we still need to pick up the phone and take our chances! there should have been a form on this page so we could hint at IKEA to fill the gap. if you run into IKEA please let them know to fix this tiny but painful gap.

It's easy if the missing part is a bolt or a screw, but if a structural part is missing from the box, and you didn't check it within 14 days from the purchase, then you're basically screwed. I've just realized that I've thrown €600 out of the window, because one leg of a fancy desk I've bought a couple of weeks ago is missing. My bad, my fault, I didn't check the package right away. The lovely telephone consultants and helpful customer service employee at the store were doing what they could, but there's nothing that could be done and they are very sorry. That's it, I probably need to improvise it myself.
