Thanks so much. This is such a basic requirement for analytics software - Knowing how many *total* views a site is getting for a specific time period. It worked great in the old Universal Analytics. I'm sure most website owners don't care about all the fancy advanced analytics but we definitely need this report! Thanks again.

SUPER! I need these reports exactly! How to set to show year while i move mouse on line (in graph with comparsion to previos period)? Now showing only month.

To adjust the display so that it shows the year while you hover over the line in the graph (especially in a comparison view), you can follow these steps: Open the graph in your Looker Studio - Look for the settings or options menu, which is found in the right-hand side of the screen. - Within the parameters, there should be an option for 'Date Range' or 'Time Interval'. - Select this option and choose 'Yearly' or the equivalent setting that groups data by year. Thanks for the video! The Monthly report shows a fixed range of Jan-Dec. i noticed in the video thats your chart has the same issue. How do i set the time range to show the correct months?

That is correct. Good question 🙋 In the right hand side menu about two thirds down you have a bunch of date options. If you choose costume and then last …say 90 days you will always have a updated graph.

@ Unfortunately this doesn't work for me, I've set the date to show the last 12 months (like in your video) but whatever I put in that box, it still shows January to December (also like in your video). It would be great to hear if there is a solution to this, I suspect it's a Google bug. What I think it *might* be doing is labelling all year-long graphs January - December by default - even if the data it's showing is actually for other months.

@@rosensteingroup7041 Try changing the dimension from "Month" to "Year month" - This will change the graph to a true lookback rather than a set Jan-Dec that isn't in chronological order.

This was SO helpful! I do have a question though: I did the exact report that you did and it shows the graph beginning in January even though I'm going from May 2022 - June 2023. It shows the data from these months, but puts January first, so it looks like I have a huge dip May - July, but that's because it's when I had just started my blog. I've tried to search for how to change the graph to begin with the first date, but had no luck. Hoping you see this comment!

Thanks. Glad I could help. Not sure I completely understand you issue though. The graphs can have some pretty wonky settings. You could change the second dimension to something other than ‘month’ or below you can set the costume date range. Please let me know if I missed the point here

Try changing the dimension from "Month" to "Year month" - I also switched "views" to "active users" which is much closer to how GA originally showed how many people were coming to the site.
