I was in a headlock like this once, I did the grab low part but instead of around his side, I grabbed in between his legs. My forearms crushed his balls because he was about 150lbs, so he had about that pressure on his groin. I then gave him a few shrugs like that and proceeded to throw him on the ground. He thought it was the most painful thing ever.

I actually got out from a headlock from behind once. It all started one day when I was at my neighbors house in their old shed (the one that we no longer go into) and I picked up a pack of Marlboro Greens that was sitting on the table in the shed and I asked them for one. The next thing I knew, both Jesse and Jordan (the two neighbors that tried to jump me) came marching into the shed and one of them (Jesse) had me in a headlock from behind in where it looked kinda like a rear naked choke, but it wasn't because it wasn't choking me, while Jordan tried to snatch the pack out of my hand. He directed me toward the right where Jordan was at as he was trying to snatch it from me (the pack was originally mine, but I had given it to them) I held on to the pack, and eventually Jordan managed to get two out of the pack and once he got them out, he thought that that was all, so he then moved toward the open shed door and put his body in the way of it to block me in. Then Jesse shifted me toward a lawn chair in the shed, which originally belonged to me also, but under the approval of my grandmother we moved two or three of the lawn chairs out of the car port at my house over to theirs. Then I placed a foot against the chair and pushed back, trying to push Jesse back against the storage chest that was behind us, but he managed to shift me to the side and then shift me back to where I was facing the chair, so I did the same thing and Jesse shifted me to the side (the right to be exact) and then turned me around to where I was facing Jordan. Then I instantly dropped out of his grip and then slipped right through Jordan who was blocking the door and then me and Jordan cut across their yard. At some point during the chase, I was running toward a car trailer cage that was outside in their backyard, and I quickly jumped to the side and continued running toward my house, while Jordan was running so fast that he didn't have enough time to turn, so he crashed shoulder first into the trailer. I heard the loud bang of him crashing into the trailer as I made it onto my yard, and once I heard it, I laughed at his ass OUT LOUD. Then as he got back up, him and Jesse followed me onto my yard and asked for the pack. I showed them the inside of the pack, and they saw nothing inside of it, so they left back onto their property. I then looked at the pack and saw nothing in it at first as well, so I just threw it onto the car port table. Later I came back and looked through it again, this time finding a broken cigarette that was left inside it after I had crushed the pack by accident as Jordan tried to snatch it from me, so I mickey moused it, lit it, smoked it and played basketball. My idiot neighbors nextdoor saw me smoking it as they returned onto the property line, so Jesse challenged me to a fight in the middle of the dirt road and Jordan claimed to be the ref. So we walked down by the property line and got onto the dirt road, but Jordan then told us it would've been a bad idea for us to fight in the middle of the road, because we'd get caught, so we moved it back onto Jesse's property, and onto "the circle," which is a round space of sand in their backyard that we usually go to to fight/wrestle. Jesse then started talking a bunch of shit, and I talked some back. Jesse tried to firefly me sometime during the verbal dispute, and if you're not a complete douche and don't know what a "firefly" is, it's basically whenever you chuck a lit cigarette at somebody. He tried to do it but missed me (like a faggot). Eventually Jordan told me to push him, so I came up to him and shoved him with my left and punched him straight in the mouth with my right. Jesse managed to land a hit on my left eye/temple, but it didn't hurt or leave a mark. Basically, he didn't do shit. Some time during the verbal altercation, he told me the next time I come on to his property, he's gonna tell his dad to shoot my ass. So once I got back inside at my house I told my grandfather that the next time he sees Jesse and/or Jordan on our property to shoot their asses. I told them everything about what happened and everybody got pissed at them. Some time later when my grandmother went outside to smoke, Jordan came back over and told my grandmother that I had crushed the pack on purpose. Then my grandmother got mad at me, because she's also a crackhead about cigarettes as well. I got pissed off, but didn't go back over there for the rest of the weekend. So basically that's my story, I would much appreciate it if you guys would feel free to share your stories as well.

I am involved in karate i am a brown belt 2 tabs and we get taught that if your in a headlock position you put your closest arm to to the attacker up and behind him and put your hand on his mouth and put your leg behind pullback and he trips up over your leg or use your far away hand hit him in the solar plexus which if you hit directly into it winds you and you cannot breathe.

It works if person who's holding your head isn't trained.. Men with just a little experience will get u on the ground very quick if u let him get your head like this.. U cant really move your body without moving your head in grappling. If he gets your head through the armpit, like if he gets our head AND your arm together, be ready to fall.

Get your hips under and squat them. (stand up) Keep back straight, do front squats with barbell. (better for this than rear barbell squats) Deadlifts are good too. Then they will most likely be strong enough.

When you showed the position where you cable griped round the waist you are still vulnerable in that position to get punched. What you need to do in that side headlock position is to grab is arm as you lift, this protects you from getting punched while you take him to the ground.

In the video you've just seen where, the guy explains how to get out of a headlock, you do not have to take punches in to the face what you do is , when your arms wrapped around him grab his elbow Godin strong restricting movement in his arm, while you are getting your footing, his mind will go straight to the fact hey I can't punch this guy, that happens after about 3 seconds for seconds then real quick do the pull over manoeuvre, shown in the video where you put your hand up over the top and reach under his chin pulling him back, and pushing him against your left knee to help him fall easier on his way to the ground, but I just thought I would mention, you don't have to take a load of punches in the face before you get to do it also gives you time to assess the guys strength level, and help you make decisions .

You can also put your left hand on his shoulder and grab his hand with your right (this has to be done while standing up). Then you just simply twist his arm, and you got yourself an armlock. I've used this when fighting my friends, its also more under control, so that you don't hurt them :-). (you could break their arm or shoulder, or even throw some knee kicks at them, if it is a real attacker)
@NymeriaMeliae

that's a poor headlock... back in my school days (long time ago) a headlock brought your opponent to their knees... 9/10 times the headlock was taken from behind both feet off the ground kicking backwards into your foes stomach and bringing them down in the headlock. Secondly, the neck was much more in the crutch of the arm applying pressure to the throat... if your opponent wasn't turning a colour of red in the face then the headlock was not properly positioned. Finally, the headlock pushed the opponent more around your back than along side.

This is good advice. Bruce Lee was a huge advocate of groin strikes in street fights. Don't hold back. Whatever disables your opponent first. Ideally knocking somebody out in public now, it's better to just walk away. I had a friend who died after being sucker punched, his head hit the concrete and he died of swelling of the brain. I believe it was Bruce Lee that also said 'the best fight you will ever have is the one you don't have". These videos are smart practical tips. 99% of the time on the street you will face an untrained fighter. But most people are untrained. Simple self defense techniques can make the difference between you getting away without injury or being severely injured. As far as the law goes - you do what you can to disable your opponent, retreat and call the police or get away. If you ground and pound on someone for 7 minutes - you are going to go to jail. Best advice is to avoid fighting, swallow your pride and ego and walk away. Unless you have no choice, you are defending someone or a family member.

I to, have a way in getting out of a headlock, but not only headlocks, also other things They really worked for me, seriously. Now look, It's a few steps: 1- When you're in the headlock You're left arm is free if he locks you on right side, you're right arm is free if he locks you on his left side. 2- The arm that's behind the opponent and give them a good shot behind the knee DIRECTLY behind the knee. Where it bends, aim there best way you can. 3-Hit it as hard as you can, but accurately. Or clip him with your hands, grab his feet or foot, and pull it back making him fall, causing him to let go to catch himself. While he's down, you got an advantage. I Hope this helped you guys. Thanks for reading. (What he said is similar, but Mines is SLIGHTLY different)

Depends someone with decent falling skills will not let go at alljust hold on and turn yor upperbody while going down and your escape attempt just made it worse. Not saying it is a bad ove or an inpossebility just lithging the drawbacks wich of course everything has. On the other hand someone with some skills prob wont attack like that and iff he would prob take you down in one motion

get serious. this opponent is applying the worst weakest headlock ever. not even untrained schoolyard quality. someone who digs in a real lock under your chin can choke you to death in under a minute, and he WILL choke you to death if try to punch his nuts or claw his face or pick him up. even if you somehow get that leg (again this fake opponent is passive, real opponent TIGHTENS the lock and kills you by accident) trying to pick the guy up who is locked under your chin and throw him is hillarious. headlocks are en emergency situation. you need to break the lock before doing anything else. you need to grab the locking arm with both hands and pull with all your strength and use your chin to dig under the lock just to get another breath, possibly get a forearm inside the lock to further block the choke under your chin, and get enough room to try one or two desperate moves. one would be to turn towards the opponent so his lock is now around the back of your head instead of under your chin and use your elbow against his face to pry yourself further back, breaking the lock. only THEN could you pull off a trip or throw or strike back. obviously you want to avoid getting choked in the first place at all costs so if you are going to strike the balls, gouge the eyes, etc, you don't want to be trying that shit AFTER a guy digs a lock under your chin. do it (and anything else you can do) to avoid the lock in the first place.

coelho sports I m sorry for mine english. But it can be done like he says only I will hold his arm with wich he chokes me and mine other hand I put it over his head so I can grap his neck or nose or eye and then stand up. He will fall and yes you musn't wait with it cause you are right if stay to long in that position you will lose you breath and you go out. It s action reaction in a fight. The one who knows when what to do has the most chance. And nobody is Born Invincible.

You're just gonna have to deal with getting punched in the face. What kind of advice is that? People can be so pained by a single punch in the face, that they can't even think straight to do the rest. Instead of grabbing them close with that left arm, protect your face with it!
@ComptGeorges
@ComptGeorges 10 жыл бұрын
In the case like this. Just put your left arm in his face immediately and stay really close to him, before he hits you. And throw him to the ground. Train this a lot, and you'll be able to do it in seconds. Anyway, an attacker, if he is an average guy, will not produce enough force with his left arm to knock you out from this position, from this angle and closeness. And I say that from my experiance. He might hurt you but wtf, it's a fight. If you are too week to take that kind of left arm punch anyway, seriously your fist will not protect you... Best luck

you still have 1 hand free... protect with that one while either punching him in the groind with your other.. or try to take him to the ground like in this video... if you can get a good grip of his head... try to snap his neck, without killing him :p

One thing you forgot to mention is that very tender spot right under the nose (Septal Cartilage). If you turn your finger into a mustache, right under the nose, and then put pressure upward, he will more than likely willingly fall backward right on his back because that shit hurts. You can test it out yourself. Put your finger right under your own nose and push upward. It will be painful but it is way more painful if it's being done by someone else. And if, as you described, you leave one of your legs behind his, it works all the better to drop him on his back.

If you have seem or were in any streetfight, the headlock will quickly turn into a throw as the guy put you forward. So, the first thing to do is to step forward and establish stability.

The headlock if properly applied by a stronger guy is nearly impossible to break free.Not only, you are imbalanced and the spine is controlled by the opponent but the breathing gets stopped once the breathing stops there is not much you can do.There is a kung fu technique of suddenly pulling the other persons hair but that too can be overcome if the person twists his arm around the victim's neck.

A few months back I was grappling with a very fit young lad who was into MMA or whatever. He expected to beat me easily, but I simply looked for an opening, put him in a headlock, took him down quickly and that was it. Easy victory. In fact, it was so easy - beating him with ease 8 times in a row - that I began to wonder if he was letting me win and was it my turn to lose. ‘No, you’re a natural,’ he said. The final grappling match we had, he really did go for it, trying to trip me up with his various fancy moves, putting all of his strength in, and I just put him down with such force that I almost broke his ribs. He was left black and blue. I felt bad about that as he was a really nice chap. How do you explain this? Thanks.

I once was in a headlock where a guy came behind me and had an arm around my neck. The first thing i did was actually get him off the ground while he was holding on to me, jump back, and slam him into the ground, putting all my weight into him. I was pretty scrawny back then, and i was still able to get him out cold that way.

theres a similar defence in krav maga... you pretty much do the same thing, but when you pull their face back you simultaneously groin strike and try to push on their pressure point right under nose. it works very well against bigger and taller opponents (i've used it myself)

I was playfighting at my school one time and we were doin little headlocks like these. I did what the video did but i added in something i thought would work, which it did. I wrapped my left arm (he was headlocking me with his right hand) around his waist, and with my dominant hand, punched his kneecap a few times, it disoriented their bottom leg and i was easily able to trip them over after exploiting that weakness.

I'm writing a story with a military battle. Includes a man holding two captives in a headlock--one in his left arm, the other in his right arm. If I post a couple quotes, can someone (preferably skilled/knowledgeable about a fighting style) take a look, to see if I'm describing it well and how the twosome escape? I could use some pointers. Thanks.

2 scenarios: 1. Guy doing the headlock 190cm tall + strong muscles, not like a bodybuilder but strong. What to do then? Will it still work? I'm 173 cm tall with lots of muscles and a somewhat understanding of how to fight, yet i have never actually tried to counter a headlock since it has only been done for fun. understand of my strength, compared to my height, i deadlift 140kg, i can hold a human flag, i can punch and elbow strike for example a wall, without hurting myself and i am very flexible. 2. The very rare times that i actually use headlocks because i don't want to damage anyone physically more than neccesary, i will usually lay down while having their headlocked, with all my weight, which makes it almost impossible to get out of it, if i was to get into such a headlock, how would i be able to get out of it? If it would even be possible.

I've used the one where you bring your arm around and into the face. I was at a party and a buddy of mine (who's a lot bigger than me, yet for some reason can't hold his liquor) decides he wants to get me in a head lock. I use this move and follow up with a rear naked choke on him until he cooled down.

Variation.. rear hand grabs back collar of bad guy, front hand lifts behind bad guys front knee as you pull the collar down circular motion. This results in a flip, sort of cartwheel like, of the bad guy and you can aim him head first into the pavement thus KOing or killing him. Good times

DON'T JUST TAKE THE PUNCHES! Hold his punching arm against his body. Block his arm, trap it, then punch his balls, he will release grip automatically. Then you're able to strike in different places to break free.

first thanks for the videos i am a big fan..i was actually recently on a real street fight in that position i first started punching the groin like 5 times with the adrenaline at the moment he didn´t felt a thing... my second though was to push him into some rigid tables and bite him in the arm and so i did... i would recommend u to consider this kind of conditions of oponents to ur arsenal of moves and videos... PD: my sensi taugh me after that fight to bust the knee cap or ankle and push my body backwards in that position and gain offensive position...
