i suffered an extreme heartbreak last summer. i cried and vented and sobbed. and then tried to forget her, because thinking about her was too painful. she's showed up in my dreams constantly. i finally admitted to myself recently.... that i'm really not over her. i've been going through it again trying to FEEL and CRY and VENT. again. learn from my mistake and be honest with yourself on your heart. it's hard cause i'm not ready to move on yet. some part of me still feels like she's the one and i'm losing her. but another part recognizes that she chose to leave me... it's really her loss... and i deserve to be with someone who knows what they got and would never let me go

Im heartbroken since half a year now and according to this video I'd say I am still lurking around in the acceptance phase. I just cant get my mind off of this one person and at least for now the idea of unsubscribing her on social media or deleting every message and memory seems impossible to me. I'd love to get to listen to your playlists. Since I experienced not only time but especially music heals most of the wounds.
@iremsezen8125 жыл бұрын
Don't worry about it too much, I'd say. Time really does heal everything! With time, you will see that you don't think about her as much and the thought of blocking her etc. doesn't seem as impossible and hurtful. Try to actually catch yourself when you are thinking about her and find something else to think about even if it hurts and is difficult as hell. If you keep cutting yourself off from thinking about this one person then you won't do it as much anymore. Good luck and don't forget that you deserve someone who loves you and treasures you as much as you love and treasure them and even if it might not seem true sometimes, there are people out there that are just a perfect match for you!

I just asked her to block me on sm and I've been trying to fill time working lots, meditating, exercising, doing good deeds, visiting friends and it is getting better. Fuck, half a year of this would be torture. I really think it is easier to stop pining if you're not seeing or knowing about their every move or assuming they're doing great when you feel like shit :( My best friend was the one who coerced me to just block delete and as much as I didnt want to it helped. my girlfriend and I broke up a week ago and it's hard to distract yourself when you're on lockdown and can't really go out that much and meet friends... even virtually it has its limits when you just don't want to sit in front of a screen all day long or just really need a hug. :( so far creative outlets worked best for me: doodling, painting, writing, hell even knitting. :) podcasts can also be a great distraction (again: netflix is great but staring at a screen for days is just not it for me and I crave offline time). so I'd be happy about those playlists :-) listening to music helps me a lot as well and I enjoy it the most when painting. thank you two for this video.

I crave offline time so much too. I stopped texting someone who would text me everyday. They are the nicest person and I loved talking to them but I had to assert boundaries and stop texting them because I desperately want physical presence and to live life outside of my phone. It sucks because I value them and don't want to abandon them but I also need to make space for my needs. :(

This is the best video regarding this topic I've ever watched. You talked about this in such a kind, understanding, empathetic, sensitive and supporting way, it was like listening to two of my best friends, even I don't know you personally of course. I am currently at the first stage. I have gone through all of these steps before and I was kind of already aware of all the steps you talked about here, but the one thing I was always missing out on and that I skipped was "killing the hope" (which was really funny when you said it like this, Lillian :D). I am a very optimistic person despite my depression and I am always holding on to the tiniest bit of hope, no matter what it's about. I'm really having trouble with letting the hope go, even though I accept that the person has left me. It's strange and it's hard, but I'm gonna watch this video whenever I feel like I need a reminder of this over the coming weeks (or months or however long it is going to take me to get over this). Thank you so much!

My gf of almost a year and a half broke up with me 3 days ago. I feel so numb about it, and it doesn't help that my avoidance attachment style reactions are making me feel like a robot. We were planning to get married, and she broke up with me because she was not "in the right headspace" after ghosting me for 2 full days, we were not having problems before she ghosted me out of nowhere, just saying that she needed time to study. I'm so mad how she didn't even tell me in person, she broke with me through text and wants to stay as acquaintances. I guess people didn't lie about the first lesbian heartbreak lol. Worst part is that i dont even know if she would like for us to get back together because she made it seem like "right person, wrong time". If she had made it clear she had lost all feelings i would feel so much better about this and coukd get over it quickly, but no, she had to leave the ambiguity.

In this version, the character is empowering herself after she has decided to leave her lover, by saying: “If someone shall be called weak, it is him and not me.” I said this to me yesterday and it helped me a lot today ❤ I reminded myself of my good qualities that I think she missed when she just blocked me. It's all my fault, she was going through a terrible phase in her life: her mother has been diagnosed with cancer and she needed my presence by her side. But I was (still am) suffering from depression and wasn't able to give her what she deserved. At the end of our relationship, I think she fell in love with someone else. I was so angry that I told her terrible things, and now I regret everything. I'm devasteted and I miss her so much. I hope she found/will find someone who can love her the way she deserves it. I don't know when I'll be able to recover, I have so many issues to work on, but someday, I really, really, really hope she'll forgive me and we'll be able to put bad memories aside and be, at least, friends.

just dealing with the end of a 2-month situationship and she was my first love, i guess. these stages don't seem as linear to me, i'm sort of jumping back and forth and doing a bit here a bit there. she was perfect, though. but autostraddle told me to internalize the line "i dont want to be with a person who doesnt want to be with me." and i feel that. i guess that is my strategy to let go. just being able to wholeheartedly embrace this line. because i deserve better. i deserve someone where it won't be as stressful and someone who wants to and can commit to me.

I feel like the only reason im not over my now toxic ex is because; she is currently holding on to a very important sweater I got with distance relatives. She's threaten to to burn it multiple time and just wont give it back. I've talking about it with my mother but it's been put off. I feel I can't let go of that sweater and I can only get over her once I get it back. Then again once I get it back I just want to burn it myself. I hate her so much. The turn in the lovey dovey relationship to the pure hatred and tears it still so real after months. No one in my circle understands. Thank you for reading my story lol.

My girlfriend broke up with me but she is still planning to travel with me, she says that she loves me and that I am her soulmate, yet she doesn't want to be with me anymore after nearly two years because she closed her heart but it is killing me to have this situation when you are not together, acting like you are, put your whole soul to make it work again but stay the only one who tries :)

We kept dating for a month I loved her so much she is the one who said her feelings she used to be my BESTFRIEND obviously but then she broke up with me at the Nye telling me she needs a break and then she told me she can't handle a relationship and she is the one who said her feelings first she told me that she loves me and then she left me here loving her alone . (My heart is shattered into pieces bc I lost a BESTFRIEND and a GIRLFRIEND)Our relationship as BESTFRIEND was so good so sad it ended it feels like I lost everything I hope I can make it out bc I thought my life gonna get better but then she broke me .
