Here's a tip: What I always did for my paths was get out some graph paper and draw out my island( I recommend using pencil then pen) From the houses to the Beaches, Then I draw all the trees and flowers to work around. THEN (IN PENCIL) I draw out where I want my path. I use pencil for the paths so I can erase and retry or when I want a new design and set up. Sure it does take a long time to map out but it is worth it. I can't do this so I can have a game plan instead of placing paths randomly at places where we don't need them. My first time using paths I placed all my paths in such an ugly pattern, now every time i use paths and graph paper, my paths are planned out right in front of me and I follow the guidelines

Something I just found out the hard way -- if you save over the pattern used to make the path with a new pattern in the designs tab, all of the current paths will change to the new design. This can make it really easy to change all of your paths to a new design, but also make it hell if it changes accidentally.

Playing New Leaf for the first time (Yes, in 2020) and the thing I found most disappointing about paths is that if you replace the design slot with another design, your path is replaced with that design too. This makes it really easy if I want to use a single tile over and over, and then I can replace the design in one simple step. However, for the really nice designs that require multiple pieces, I'm a bit SOL if I wanted to also do custom clothing. Multiple pieces for a path just takes up too many design slots, and I have to keep them if I don't want my path to get ruined/replaced. :/

change the clock so every time you talk to sable you save by pressing start, quit, restart and choose the "Something else" option when talking to isabelle and change the time. dont pick the "delete town" option it will delete your town

I keep the same paths every season (Some people change theirs) because im lazy and I don't wanna have to lay down my paths again cause last time i did (I finally completed my paths) it took like 5 months it may of took this long cause I didn't do it all in one day and I have a bunch of things to make the paths go too and plus i got so bored with the game so those are some reasons why it took like 5 months to lay down all of my path.And that's why I don't wanna change them every season.

For Redd Tents show up the ground needs to be clean or I can cover it in the area that he appears? I saw the tents on the video, but I don't know if he appears even if the ground is covered or if you leave this area without your customized path.

+LittleEcila Those people are using more than one player character (so creating another villager). Each character can hold a certain number of patterns so that's why your current designs are being replaced by your new ones. Hope that helped :)

i have a problem, the back room of my house is a disco room but both the floor and walls are custom design, when i scan the designs for a path and replace the wall and floor pattern it changes the whole room aswell, any chance i can fix this or just generally find a carpet and wall to match?

+Crazedtech You could find a carpet and wallpaper to match, but you could also create a second character for your town. Each new character has their own design slots, so you can have your paths and your custom designs :)
