Ryan Serhant began his first day in the real estate business on September 15, 2008 - the same day that Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy in the wake of the subprime mortgage collapse. While the real estate sector has steadily recovered, Serhant himself has quickly become one of the most successful brokers in the world, with agents under his leadership in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami and the Hamptons. The Serhant Team has been named by WSJ Real Trends as the #1 real estate team in New York for two years in a row, and the #2 team in the country, selling close to $1 billion in real estate last year. Ryan is consistently the youngest broker to make the Journal’s top ten list each year.
Ryan stars in the popular Bravo series “Million Dollar Listing New York,” which just wrapped its seventh season. On September 18, 2018 - the week of his 10-year anniversary in real estate - he will debut his first book, Sell It Like Serhant. When pre-sales were announced, Ryan was #1 on Amazon’s daily list of “Movers and Shakers.” As star and producer, this year he also debuted his new Bravo show, "Sell It Like Serhant," started a successful vlog ( / ryanserhant ) and launched an app (Agent Empire: NYC). There is nothing Ryan can't do. His motto communicates his professional and personal philosophy, "Expansion. Always. In all ways."

I have actually started doing exactly that, I wake at 6am, get ready for work, open my laptop and start studying (im studying currently for a Diploma in Health), drop my teen off at the bus for school then off to work fulltime. Once work is finished, it's dinner time, laundry to do and then hitting the books again. I'm flying through my assignments, the grind is real. Self-motivation is tough, but anyone can do it. Thanks for the inspo to keep pushing!

For those that are complaining about getting up early here's some tips I learned: Set your alarm and when it goes off, don't press snooze. You HAVE to get up. Count down from 5 and sit up in bed when you get to 1. It also helps to have your alarm outside of arms reach so you have to get up to turn it off. Working out in the morning gets the blood flowing and makes it easier to wake your body up. Taking a cold(er) shower also helps, even if it's a quick rinse. On weekends, don't sleep in more than an hour than your work week. The more you do this the easier it gets, I promise. First week will be relatively easy, second week will suck (at least that's how it went for me) the rest will get easier and easier. Routine is key. Stick to it. Also, there has to be a reason you are getting up early. Don't just get up early because Ryan says you should otherwise you are just going to sit on your couch miserably tired wondering why you got up so early. Plan your morning the day before with something PRODUCTIVE, not busy work. Read a book, check/answer emails, do your research... etc.

you can get those 2 extra hours by simply working +2 hours after average worker finish his work. You do not need to deprave ypurself of your sleep, you can deprave yourself of other things (aka netflix time) instead. You feel better if you have at least 8 hours of sleep and be much more productive and positive.

tom jens most of them who actually wake up at 4 go to bed early. Also, all those stories about Napoleon and Churchill who presumably slept for only 4-5 hours is also horse shite, cause they slept deporting their siesta too and overall, probably had more than 8 hours of sleep daily.

Try as many things as possible to find what you're passionate about. Once you find out what that passion is, become as close to an expert in that that niche as possible. Example: If you love real estate, use social media to your advantage. Start a "Epic Listing" Instagram page. Post 3 times a day for 4 years. By the time you're twenty, you should have grown a decent sized audience. Then leverage your audience any way you can. You can even brand yourself now as a 16 year old aspiring realtor. Put out weekly youtube video talking about the market. Don't give advice (you're too young, most people won't take it seriously), but give facts. There are soooo many thing you can do now. The problem is... most people won't start. (Don't be like most people) Keep me updated 😊

@@montemahler6766 I'm 29 and only taking this advice now because I didn't have people like Ryan to learn from and follow... I wish I was your age and had someone like Ryan give me advice like that. Take action now and learn along the way. I wish you all the best.

Now THAT is some advice. You could even refer clients to Ryan after you get that Instagram following. Bing!
