Got to love Radio Bob and the sweary music, lived here 6 years and you don't get used to it😂 Another Massive Wagons song that gets a fair bit of play hear is 'Billy Balloon head'. Keep up the good work and see you in the spring.

I found Planet Rock back in 2016 when my company gave me a new van, and it had a DAB radio, so it meant I could listen to Planet Rock and Kerrang. I discovered you lads and so many other excellent new bands (new to my ears anyway). I know they get the odd criticism for playing the classics like Maiden, Metallica, Kiss, and AC/DC quite a bit, but their core audience loves these bands.

i will back up Planet Rock up here as well. i listen from 7:30am-5:30am every day and I love the station. It's also how I found wagons, so I have a debt with them. It's very easy for listeners to complain and moan about the same old songs being played daily but its not the DJs say at the end of the day, or it's not going to be them having the final say. however, the jukebox with Wyatt and the request show with Murray does allow a bit more freedom for them. i will say since the news of Dave's personal life has come out they seem to be ramping up the amount of Foo Fighters music being played. But if you noticed Shinedown's symptom of being human which is a cracking song had a good bit of air time a few months ago and now doesn't have hardly any at all. I would love to know what songs a station like Planet Rock has available to them on their systems to be able to play.. i mean I keep asking for the Curry Song but Murray still hasn't played it for me 🤣

Hahaha the Murray song! Keep at it Dan! Id love to hear em play that, i cant see it tho unfortunately 😂. But yeah its an interesting side to it all, what makes things get air, ive not noticed the Foos thing but ill listen out for it.

@@MassiveWagons sooner or later i will get it played, I can be annoying sod after a while lol. its a cracking song with no swearing. not many curry based songs out there either. i will keep trying! i will even buy planet rock a copy of house of noise if they haven't got it 🤣

Here are some questions for you: What do you think of cover versions? What are your hits & shits for songs that have been covered? What (if any) songs would you really like to cover? I think Motorheads cover of Heroes is one of the best out there, next to your version of Livin' La Vida Loca (obviously😆)

I tend to think the real question is whether radio play truly matters in 2024. My sense is radio’s dead in the States, for better or worse.
@snapea3 ай бұрын
Unlike the States, we never really had rock radio in the UK (at least until this millennium with digital radio). Sure there were rock programmes on BBC radio, but we never really had an equivalent of the genre specific FM stations in North America, it was pretty much all chart, talk and classical.

Its an interesting one, it maybe doesn’t have as much impact these days but i think its still a valuable thing, especially when stations have a great social media running along side.

@@MassiveWagonsmaybe it's a bit like the rock mags, much more niche than they used to be but a good way of reaching proper dedicated rock fans. Btw, really loved the track by yrack feature you did on Primordial way back when for Full Nelson's release

Buckie is indeed where you said nearer to Inverness rather than Aberdeen. A common local doric saying around here is ' get awa ta buckie.' Doric being a local dialect to Aberdeenshire, I know that from word of mouth means gtf out of here or of disbelief.

The rock block and jukebox at 1 o'clock is great from planet rock. The song that i heard alot from you guys on planet rock that got me hooked was Ratio. I heard that once and I was requesting to hear it again and again. Question ive got is what's your thoughts on the egos in a band? For instance lead singer Baz let's say gets paid the most money, then Adam lead guitarist and so on and so on. Do you think that still happens and do you think that has an effect on the band in the long run with bust ups and what have ya.
@MassiveWagons3 ай бұрын
Its an interesting one mate! No egos in our band as far as im aware 😂 no room for it, no room anywhere if you ask me.

@MassiveWagons hahaha seems like it's more of an American thing looking at bands that have been.
